I was there in December 2017 and as a Catholic, the most surprising discovery for me that was never been written in news or magazines is that each mosque are required to have a Christian section. Imagine my surprise seeing a Christmas tree inside a heritage mosque!! I have to double take and asked one of the handlers to identify it just to be sure. But there is no mistaken it, a Xmas tree with fairy lights, ornaments & packages gift wrapped. After that realization of how tolerant Iranians are towards other religions, I didn't shy away when asked if I were a Muslim. It was one of the best trips I have taken in my life. Been to 58 countries to date, can't wait until we can all travel again.

Take your dumb idea to the world museums and you can find it in Elemite, Achamanid , Parthian,Sasanid and today’s Buildings. My time inside this mosque feels like a dream. The Persian rugs are laid out during winter & remove in the summer to reveal exquisite marble floors. Got up really early to be the first inside. It was a magical place to be.
