Each of us is unique. Only by stepping into another's shoes can we see our similarities.
Children with functional disabilities, people with mental disorders, and children and young people left without parental care want understanding and acceptance. Just like you.
By understanding and accepting, we create a more inclusive society and a better life - for others and for ourselves.
Deinstitutionalization in Latvia is an opportunity for people with mental disorders, children with functional disorders, and children forced to live in out-of-home care to fit in and live in society.
With the support of European Union funds, deinstitutionalization projects are implemented in Latvia - community-based social services are created and society's understanding of humanity and human rights is strengthened.
In the fall of 2023, the Ministry of Welfare Republic of Latvia invited all to step into another's shoes - to involve, see, hear, read and understand to create a better society for all of us.
The campaign took place in Latvia in the fall of 2023
