Hi, the sea was mostly red and yellow flags. Some days were calm enough to swim but others were not really great for swimming. The sea temperature was warm and very pleasant for walking in the surf. It's low season so generally it's not that busy, there are still families with children around but not in great numbers.

Hi Sean when tou said walk North to nicer beaches is that meaning towards X10 ? We havent been befor but trying to find a nice family friendly resorts with access to walk shop, food, pub but also a very nice beach front ..

Hi, unfortunately the sands has one of the worst beach fronts as you can see from the video. If you go 200 meters in either direction the beach is much better. I'll link in the Sentido beach for example but you are a bit of a walk into town. Last year in October it was raining quite a bit at night but most days were sunny and warm. The sea was very calm and perfect for swimming

Hi, from the hotel reception its a short walk to the main road about 4-5 minutes and you are at the start of the main strip running through Khao Lak center where you will find loads of bars, shops restaurants etc...
