The choreography was done by a woman called Fatima Robinson. She has done some iconic dances like "put your hands where my eyes can see" by busts rhymes and "backstreet's back" by the backstreet boys. The dream girls DVD has an uncut version of her audition tape to choreograph this movie and it's this entire sequence from start to finish. It was epic! I wish it was in youtube. 😓

Exactly. I never thought much about Tambourines but after seeing Standing In The Shadows Of Motown, my attitude changed dramatically. Also what happened to The Dreams with Cadillac, is notorious in The UK. For example, A Girl Group called Girlthing who were the proteges of Simon Cowell saw their Song Pure & Simple given to another Group called Hear'Say which they took to Number One. They never had another hit record after that and fell into obscurity. Take That who were created by Nigel Martin Smith after seeing the success of New Kids On The Block. Their debut song was "It Only Takes A Minute" originally done by The Tavares but the "Kids" didn't know that. Then Girls Aloud had a Hit Record called "See The Day" originally done by DC Lee who was one of the "Original" Members of Wham who was in The Club Tropicana Video. Girls Aloud have also covered Push It, Fame, Flashdance, and Jump For My Love by The Pointer Sisters. In her Book Kimberley Walsh complained that their Version in Look Actually wasn't in the Movie but The Pointer Sisters Version was but she didn't realize that what they did was part of History since the 1950's of White Artists taking Black Songs and having the bigger hit.

Yes. The Supremes wore Red Fringe Dresses when they did The Ready Steady Go The Sounds Of Motown in 1965 with The Miracles, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder & Martha & The Vandellas. It has never been on DVD as far as I know but Dick Clark bought the Rights and Berry Gordy sued him for Royalty Rights. They settled but Dick was a smart Man. He later acquired rights to The TAMI Show (Teenage Music International).

Exactly! He grew up seeing of top R & B Singers get "robbed" and even to this day it happens. In fact in the UK alot of Boyband/Girlgroup Icons cover Songs by Chic, Diana Ross, The Tavares, and Shalamar not to mention Silk and even Adina Howard. If the Songwriters still owns the Rights, they get "Paid". I had no idea that "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell was an obscure Northern Soul Song from Philly by Gloria Jones. Even The Moody Blues did their version of "Go Now" when Denny Laine was in The Group before joining the Faces then Wings. It was originally done by Bessie Banks.

BEST PERFORMANCE IN THE HISTORY OF ANYTHING
@laminage4 жыл бұрын
Curtis was very devious but very smart. He knew where the Demographics were. Chicago, was next to Philadelphia, and New York at one point the epicenter for Music. Philadelphia of course had American Bandstand, Chicago had Vee Jay Records that Jerry Butler & The Impressions Recorded "For Your Precious Love" in 1958 not to mention Chess Records that Recorded Chuck Berry & Bo Diddley amongst others. Also what he did was of course was "Payola" (Monetary Bribes) and Alan Freed was ruined because of it while Dick Clark "covered" his Tracks. He owned a Factory that pressed Records recorded by Artists who appeared on American Bandstand. He also had a small ownership in Swann Records that had Artists who also appeared on American Bandstand. He never actually took Monetary Payments but when he had to testify before Congress he was told to give up The Music Business and say with American Bandstand. He chose Bandstand but he lost 8 Million in the process. In 1963 he turned down The Beatles for distribution and admitted he couldn't have been more wrong about a Group. Also there was a strong Black Population in Philadelphia, as well as Chicago who were descendants of the South.
