I don't know how much influence Don Nelson had in drafting Curry, maybe a little maybe a lot, but it was Larry Riley the GM at the time that drafted Stephen Curry.

I still remember 2015, my friend showed me a magazine with Curry as the cover and told me that he was really good at basketball, that was still before the playoffs and then I started rooting for Curry and the Warriors and from thereon with their success and failures I was still a fan of the warriors. This guy will make more milestones before retiring, I'll be proud to be alive seeing Lebron, Curry, Durant and the rest of these all stars. I just hope I could see them live at least once

I hope the owner is and close attention to this cuz this is so important to the franchise of the Warriors and a big huge possible way because right now you don't have players or anybody that can take stiff Road or you don't have anybody ready to be able to lace up and be able to Steph Curry can do right now in the owner and the GM must take this as a message in really take this to Heart

Well Draymond is staying (he said last season he plans to retire in about 4 years which is around the time his contract ends) and you know the front office is gon’ stay aggressive about keeping Steph around. Only person to see if there’s any chance is Klay……I feel like they’re gonna be aggressive this off-season 🤷🏾‍♂️🙏🏽

The problem with that comparison is they played under a different set of rules. Curry had a great career but in an era where physicality is punished and not rewarding offensive players have a freedom they didn't have in the past.
