Hopefully Curry will not overdo this. Remember when he was expected to surpass Ray Allen, he jacked up more contested threes which cost Warriors some losses. As a Boston sports fan I rarely find myself in agreement with Shannon since he usually comes out against my teams but here he's 100% right. Steph Curry is a phenom with unprecedented individual numbers and team success. He is absolutely a proven commodity and will be remembered in this generation of basketball at the same level as Lebron due to his contributions to gameplay, culture, and his own personal accolades. As Shannon said, anything henceforth is merely icing on the cake. A Finals MVP would be the cherry on top. Honestly, the stakes are pretty low for both teams. The Celtics are young and have a first-year coach. The Warriors have already climbed the highest mountain multiple times. If either team wins, it would of course be a significant achievement but if either were to lose, I do not believe it would shatter any narratives.

I don’t understand why analytics (and those who buy into it) insist that to be you can not have a bad game and that the sport is entirely individual. Every player in the history of sports plays bad. Against the raptors Steph was literally getting triple teamed at points forcing him to throw up contested shots and he scored 48 in one of the games. Skip always says Jordan never had a bad series, but in the 1995 Playoffs versus the Miami Heat, Jordan shot 15/31 (48%) in Game 1, 4/15 (27%) in Game 2, 9/35 (26%) in Game 4, and 11/31 (36%) in Game 5. He shot 38% in that series, was absolutely horrendous, and melted down in a major way - but you won’t hear anything about it because the rest of his team played well and they won the series. MJ was not perfect by any means. The man shot 41% for an entire playoff-run in 1986-1987, too, and got bounced in the first round. The myths of him being flawless, never melting down, winning all of the time, and making every shot is revisionist history.

He hasn’t choked in any games he is literally the most dangerous player in the game due to his ability to stretch the floor and make everyone better. Just because kd was great doesn’t mean Steph wasn’t. Just because lebron was all time doesn’t mean that Steph wasn’t good. Teams will literally pick him up from half court and double team him on the perimeter. Although I don't agree on everything Skip said, but he has a point about Steph really not having a legit championship ring. 1st ring, winning versus LBJ without Love and Kyrie. Basically a gift. 2nd and 3rd ring, we all know what that is. So to me, this series vs Celtics is his real test competing vs a team that is full roster and without any KD in his team. It's Steph's chance to prove he can do it as the lead star and vs a full team.
