@@drgta6 nah there’s no way the warriors aren’t putting in the work in practice - otherwise they wouldn’t be looking this good. They’re just in a collective funk from the free throw line. When everyone is missing their free throws, it makes you stressed when you’re taking yours, so you miss yours as well. They’ll get back to a respectable free throw rate sooner or later. However, they’ll likely always be a bit below average from the line. This is because they’re an undersized hustle team, and historically those type of teams shoot worse FTs because they’re more tired from playing hard

Remember, Steph missed before they got the rebound. Gsw had a slow start to the game, they missed so many free throws and turned the ball over many times.

@@kennn30 Steph was calling for the ball. First action was a designed play, you can see Curry was yelling instructions to Lindy which is why he didn't take the open shot either. And technically Lindy didn't execute the screen correctly which allowed the Curry shot to be somewhat contested.

Warriors missed 10 FTs and lost by 3 meanwhile Clippers missed only 2 of their FTs Warriors had a chance at the end but they take care of business at the line and it's still probably a win

T-Lue knows that in the motion system Kerr runs, long defenders focused on the passing lanes will slow the offense down and negate a lot of the advantages it generates with steph and that motion. Lue has known this since 2016 when he coached Cleveland. Cleveland's current coach - the former Warriors assistant - also knows this as do many other coaches, but it takes disciplined team defense with the right personnel to execute and not have it look like your players are out there lost. And today, because of the Warriors success, many teams have those long athletic wing defenders and many more of them understand how to defend what GS runs. But getting 5 guys to play focused team defense is hard to do in the NBA despite the right personnel being on many teams.

Great analyisass. I would bet if you asked Curry, he would say the F-up was missing that first short. Only short coming I see is GPII didn't recognize the pass wasn't for him and that despite grabbing it, there was still time for the drop off to a higher percentage 3pt shooter in space... but its asking a lot for a player to recognize all of that with 2 ticks on the game clock.

They should have called a timeout and set up who should be playing but I guess Kerr wanted to know how they would handle the pressure. They had good shots. They just wouldn't go in this time. Next time, maybe Kerr will call time but still, if you can't sink those FT, you shouldn't be winning unless you are leFlop in which case the refs are going to be on your side.
