“A lot of my viewers are from the South Pacific” my husband is from Samoa. My wedding ring is a pearl, not a diamond. His great great grandfather, when he was courting his wife, wanted to give her something special but didn’t have any money. One day he was out in the ocean and found an oyster with a beautiful pearl in it and gave it to his beloved. That tradition was passed down and so my husband wanted to keep that tradition alive even though I’m not from Samoa.

The smaller ones are probably farmed oysters so they are made to have a pearl everytime and different colors. The big one is a natural oyster so they are misshapen.

That's not completely true, most cultured pearls are made by putting a nucleus (usually a bead from a freshwater oyster shell) and donor tissue from another mullusk. In the gonad. This caused a pearl sack to develop and nacre to develop over the "seed". 18-24 months later there's enough nacre for the pearl to be harvested.
