I found this video so helpful. I am starting my teaching journey (I was a para for about 10 years) and going from being a para to being a resource teacher is an entirely new world.

This was sooooooooo helpful! Thank you so much for sharing. Data collection can be a bit overwhelming. I feel like my program didn't prep me enough for this as well as I've seen the lazier side of teachers just not collecting data. So it's been hard to figure out and pick up as I go into own future classroom. Really appreciate this!

How do you suggest tracking data when you are a high school special education teacher where you won’t be able to sit with the kid and track progress and there’s no cohesive way to collect data, outside of grades? For example, I might be the case manager for a student that has an English-related goal, but I have them in math.

So do you start with something else before you do the data rings?

I collect the majority of data on sticky notes, and then transfer those data points to the data rings. I teach this method inside the Intentional Data Collection course inside The Intentional IEP membership.
