The french violinist plays a beautiful, emotional version of the classic "As time goes by". There was no music video for that (or none I knew of) so I created mine with some pictures from the N°1 movie classic of all times

I'm that same guy, who cried 2 years ago, when he heard this wonderful rendition. Guess what? I cried again. Bravo.

everybody has something inside their spirit. few know how to express & manifest that feeling into the reality of the world around them. stephan grapelli was the master of this expression. he found a way to put his finger on that inner feeling and using the violin, brought his very spirit to our ears. thanks for the post.

I've been listening to Stephane Grappelli for about 25-30 years. He kept on recording until the end of his days. I can't recall the album name, but it was with David Grisman, he was in his late 70s, maybe 80s. His tone always became sweeter with age. A true genius, I can't think of a violinist that brings me more pleasure. Of course he was on fire with the Quintet of the Hot Club of France. I'm fascinated by Gypsy jazz, the greatest ever........

To the few who disliked this music. How can you not like a rainbow or moonbeam?

He was always the most humble and unassuming person. His garish polyester shirts, his plastic white belt and cheap scuffed shoes were trademarks. A man worthy of all respect. He will be missed. The crowd at the Vanguard sometimes still stifle a tear at his passing. All knowing lovers do too.

Stephane Grappelli was the most gifted violinist ever heard, as this clip demonstrates. He is sadly missed but hopefully giving somebody, somewhere, the sound of their life!

Great rendition of this song - the best I have heard, by the great French violinist, who died in 1997. Poignant, sensitive, and emotional.

Rick's place. The violinist is the great Stephane Grapelli. That double bass player has got some gravitas too.

Beautifull. I like the original version and I like the violon, esp. playing by Grapelli or by one of the brothers Oistrakh ... They have real soul in the whole of their performance ... You feel it through your veins ...

what a sublimely brilliant statement of the harsh choices that the realities of the time imposed upon them; to be.. or not to be.. isn't that the real question... ultimately... to have taken the path to the left or the path to the right; the road less traveled.... c'est la vie... one makes one's choices and one takes one's chances; to thine own self be true, for if so... then one cans't not be false to any man...

Incredibly beautiful. The scenes visually intensify the crying violin while the piano's harmony pushes the moment forward. The guitar plays the hearts sorrows while the piano leads into the dreamy memories of love between man and woman (portrayed by the string bass and vocal duet) all culminates with a kiss with a chamber outro... Amazing little piece of work here.

Whomever you are vercanciones you should be a video editor! Or a director! Bravo! Bravo! That is my favorite movie... My wife and I should have used it as our wedding song in 1980 but we did use "It Had To Be You," which isn't too shabby either. Stephane Grappelli was a genius, and I just wish we had seen him live, just once. Thank you for posting!

O," Casablanca" Pokażcie mi dzisiaj takie filmy. Toniemy w zalewie świństw coraz bardziej krwawych i głupich. Czesi i konspiracja? Prawdziwie czeski film...
