Irving Berlin really was good! 👍🏼 my uncle purchased two organ books 1980? And by 1981 I knew everything on my flute! Complex and yet beautiful

Thanks!! Doing this with my jazz band; scat part is challenging. Decided to get into soloing so I can play and sing when I travel. I know all of these chords so it's going to be easy. Getting a second uke so I can have one in Low G tuning. I did that with a little cheap soprano so now I want to keep a good one in that tuning.

This song lends itself so well to scat/improv! I love how it plays with the keys. Yes I love the low G tuning...I like a more open chord layout. 😊

Where on earth did you find that Dm as a second chord? C aug, perhaps, or even an AmM7, but most definitely not a Dm. Poor old Irving would be turning in his grave if he could hear that...
@StephanieDouglassMusic4 жыл бұрын
It's a neighbor chord, there to help establish the minor key. And I disagree.
@Zacharia5034 жыл бұрын
@@StephanieDouglassMusic I respect your right to disagree; however, you've already started with a minor chord, so you don't need the Dm after the Am. If your first 4 chords were Am E+ Am7 and D9, you'd find the flow that's in the original tune. Also, at the end of the link, you do need to re-establish going back into a minor key; do it with an E7 after the C (and after the word 'By'). It's only one beat, but makes all the difference. Just sayin'.
