I’d been accustomed to thinking that most men are sex-crazed, but my boyfriend said, “If there’s something to learn about my love language (physical touch) is that sex isn’t the most important thing to me. What’s most important is that I know a woman cares and gives a damn about me…you show and tell me that every day even when we’re apart” Another time I was telling him how I’d like to spoil him and he said “I already feel spoiled by the love and attention you give me” I was actually shocked because I thought I was doing basic stuff, but for him it was much more than that. I knew that he was used to more abusive/toxic behavior in previous relationships, but that emphasized it even more! In my more masculine days lol, I was that woman who’d think “Umm he’s got all these women complimenting him…he knows he looks good, so I don’t need to say it. I don’t want to pump his head up too much!” 🤦🏾‍♀️ Now I’m never too far from complimenting my boyfriend & showing appreciation! 😍 The other day, I wasn’t feeling well, he asked if there’s anything I needed. I reluctantly asked to be taken to the grocery store (I know his days are busy with 2 jobs). He readily agreed, gave me a time to be ready by. I was soo appreciative lol he looked so sexy carrying my water & bags to my apartment 🙈 I had to let him know and thank him again for setting time aside for me 🙌🏾 he’ll say “You done lovin’ on me woman?” I’m like “Never! 😍🤗”

All points that you have made were extremely insightful and well-spoken, Stephan. However, the excerpt about vulnerability really stuck out to me. As a clinical therapist, I see many individuals who have experienced diverse traumas both inside and outside of relationships which has impacted the ability to let down guards and/or challenge learned defense mechanisms. Until we are able to completely unpack our own baggage-as distinct and painful as it may be, we will not be able to truly engulf in that form and level of intimacy. Vulnerability=intimacy and intimacy is what a lot of relationships appear to be starved of. Thank you for your insight, as always. ❤️

The "how serious i am" talking point is legit. I thought the guy im with was not into me because of low texting and texted him that i was taking a step back since i like a guy who knows what he wants. I texted him later with a pouty picture of me sad with his ghosting and he tripped out wondering where i got that idea. I agree that people make the mistake of over texting when dating. Texting may be convenient, but it can lead to a lot of things getting lost in translation and a breakdown in communication. There definitely needs to be a balance between talking on the phone, face time and texting. Also, I loved the book Stephan it was a great read. I appreciate the part about watching out for the negative people planting seeds of doubt. My boyfriend and I had experienced it and we had made a decision together to say something to the other people about it. Hearing this, I realized that the people who kept planting seeds of doubt were having their own relationship issues. My boyfriend puts so much effort into giving gifts that speak to things I love. The gifts I received for Christmas last year are being used so much by me. I know he worries whether I will love the gift. I make efforts to say it, but consistently using the items he gave me shows it. My sweatshirt is fading due to how many times I'd wear it and have to wash it. I tell him all the time that it's my favorite sweatshirt of any I've had. He put so much thought into it.

I notice about relationship is don’t assume your other half do the same things like you do because it never go down well.What I mean is like my husband is not romantic, he doesn’t give flowers like every weekdays or once a month he is not that type of a guy.I learn not to assume all men buy flowers or hold your hands etc.If I starts dwelling and keep telling him buy me this and that I learn to accept him.He buy me gifts really expensive once a while and that makes me happy because I did not expect him to be like that, I learn to accept his flaws and have good communications.Never sleep angry each other, we talk and apologize because life too short. Oh my God, I needed to hear this!! 😭😭😭Ladies, when he’s showing signs that he’s into you… and you like him back?reciprocate! I was so damaged from chasing after a guy who just wasn’t interested in me, and have had to wrestle with my own insecurities regarding my own sense of self worth and allowing myself to be loved. There’s a guy who’s been showing major signs that he’s been interested in me. I REALLY like him back, but because I was so used to reaching out and being ignored, my fear has been that this guy’s going to do the same, and that if I start chasing him, he’s going to run away. Then last week I spent time with him and a few of our mutual friends whom I’d not seen in a while. One of our other girlfriends was like hanging all over him, and he wasn’t doing anything to stop her, to the point where I was like, “What the hell???” I spent the whole next day crying about it. In having a conversation with my cousin a few days later, I realized I haven’t been as clear with my reciprocation as perhaps I could be. Then it dawned on me: he needs to know I like him back!! I reached out to him yesterday while inviting him and a number of other people over for the weekend, and he just started texting back like crazy. I’m not going to full-on confess my love out loud just yet, but I am going to take more initiative to let him know, “Hey. I’m into you too.” 😌❤️‍🩹 And if he does pull back after that? It’s okay. My boyfriend at the time introduced me to his friends and family fast. He took my parents' to dinner to make sure they knew his intentions. My father didn't show, but that's a different story. It's all in actions, not words. A man knows what he wants. Anything else may be just a play thing. My boyfriend let his go after he met me. Cream always rises to the top. 😊

When we do this we are being true to the one we are interested in as well as ourselves from the beginning. We have to stop assuming and stop being someone we are not. When we stop allowing representatives show up instead of our true self is when we get started on the wrong path. When you are your true self then it will speak to the spirit of the person and therefore we are being our true authentic self and the other person will know this and will be move to be there true authentic selves. I started to date a man and the first date was really nice. He was a gentleman and generous. I was getting out of a toxic 15.5 year relationship. I got scared and asked for us to slow down because he was very demonstrative holding my hands … and same on date two when we went to have dinner and see his house. I went home did not want to stay for a movie. Then it’s been him calling then not calling. I took you advice Stephan and compliment him sincerely for the things I like about him. He calls almost everyday and a text but doesn’t call when he says he will. It’s difficult to know if he will call when he says he will. Not reliable that way. Finally, he’s soooo busy trying to tie up loose ends of work and we make tentative plans, but he either forgets or gets too busy so we can’t meet but wants to talk on phone for a bit. I’m confused, as I know he respects and admired me, but I’m becoming frustrated and hurt. Hope I get understanding soon. Thanks for your informative videos and books. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Loved this video! I absolutely believe men are very fragile, when it comes to their hearts! It takes a lot for a man to decide to give it over to someone and when he does, it’s scary…lol. I think women handle hurt and rejection a little better, because we allow ourselves to deal in our emotions and men don’t! When they get hurt, they make so many women pay for it afterwards! I am a true believer in flirting with your significant other! My guy and I flirt with one another every day and we always compliment one another! Men are strange creatures sometimes…lol. I do almost every day, and also I give every day-compliments and energy, the more I give the more I get. It’s a risk-oh man. But men are sweet as hell if you give them some rope.
