@myles657410 ай бұрын
@@cr2lives lol I know you are not defending Trubisky. Its not just about scoring TD's, it's also about putting together winning drives and managing the game that favors your teams chances of winning. That consists of time management, situational football, and leadership to get everyone on the same page. What it's not doing is throwing the ball 50 yards down the field on 4th and 2 when we have a chance to at least tie the game with a field goal. It's not holding the ball for 6+ seconds hoping someone gets open. What being at least a competent qb is being able to throw with anticipation, throwing guys open, understanding situational football, managing the clock, and understanding reads that put your players in positions to succeed on plays. At least Pickett does one of those things. Mitch doesn't do any of them. All Mitch has is a strong arm, not very accurate tho.

The real key is the qb. Bill outschemes a lot of coaches, but he can't win with a loser like Mac Jones. Last night, the Steelers had their own loser in Trubisky. Mac Jones was benched and Zappe played well. That gives the Pats the advantage. The rules of today dictate that the qb means more than ever as they are the only player that other players can barely touch. QBs have always been the most important, but now it is off the charts.

Faulkner followed Canada to the Steelers and Mike Sullivan said they'd call the same plays as when Canada was here. Why did anyone expect it to look better?
@samsandora834110 ай бұрын
BTW - Agreed -- Coach T.'s biggest problem was his buddy buddy loyalty to Matt Canada because Canada recruited his son in college and we don't need to have a NFL team SUFFER FOR SEVERAL YEARS because of that buddy buddy loyalty -- and that horrific choice should cost Coach T. his job.

I think I understand the Steelers now. The plan must be to lose the remaining games and get a higher draft pick and select one of those college quarterbacks that is tearing it up. Rudolph needs to play out the remaining games so his trade value improves and then we can get high second round pick. What a great season ending plan.
@weltonspratley43679 ай бұрын
That's a great plan, but I don't think Tomlin is going to sacrifice his consecutive winning records to tank like that. Plus, the Steelers are back at the #6 spot in the playoffs due to the Texans lost meaning if they win out, they're in as a wild card.

Tomlin should have been fired after the humiliating home playoff loss to the Blake Bortles led Jaguars. He has not had control over this team for many seasons. It is time for a change and new philosophy.
@jeremylingo354810 ай бұрын
Why the “not that we think he should be fired” qualifier? You then went on to list at least 5-7 things he’s done that would justify ANY coach being fired. Sometimes it’s just time to move on. Sometimes it’s just time to clean house and find that next guy that’s gonna take you to that next SB. If they can go find that next Demeco Ryans? Go get em and thank Tomlin for his service and wish him the best.
