Max always tryna give himself an out. Last year when he mentioned Kobe everybody told him, you can’t make that grand of a claim based on ONE playoffs. Kawhi hasn’t done enough to even be in the conversation. He tried to cover his opinion by saying he’s only comparing it to what he’s done so far. He was still wrong about that. And his comparisons to Kobe now are STILL wrong! When Kobe blew the 3-1 lead, they lost to a much better Suns team who had just won 54 games with the MVP Steve Nash. The Lakers were not at all expected to win that series because other than Kobe, they had absolutely nobody. Secondly, the game where Kobe went 6-24, he still finished with a GAME high 23 points because he got to the FT line. He also pulled down 15 rebounds because as he put it, “The team that won the rebounding battle won every game in the series.” In other words, BECAUSE his shot wasn’t falling, he found other ways to win. He certainly didn’t let some 23 yr old kid on the Celtics drop 40. He didn’t choke in that game 7. That game was all about defense and NONE of the stars from either team shot over 35%. Also, he was playing against 4 all stars and 4 future hall of famers, while he had 1 All star reserve, Gasol on his team. Metta hit the shot (off Kobe’s assist) that was the dagger. It wasn’t a bail out shot. Give up the comparisons to Kobe, Max. You lost. Let it go.

Funny thing is when when Kobe blew the 3-1 lead, he actually shot the ball very well (in the last 3 games they lost, he actually shot 56% over the span and was over at least 50% in EACH of those games and everyone knows Kobe doesn't typically shoot 50% lol). Phoenix was just the better team that kinda woke up and realized they're better than the Lakers. 2 seed vs 7 seed I think. If the Lakers won, that would've been an upset. No doubt about it.
