Plus, the play in tournament is a way for those teams that were struck with the covid bug a chance to make the playoffs. For example, the wizards, who had the covid bug hard at the beginning of the season but are now fully healthy and playing great basketball. But I really think the #1 reason this tournament is a thing is for more $$ to the league, the #2 reason is giving teams a chance. However, I still think it needs to be changed from 7,8,9,10 seeds, to 8,9,10 seeds. 9v10 whoever wins plays 8th seed and needs to win 2 times against the 8th seed, while the 8th seed would only need 1 win

Fr, I understand why him and Luka were mad because they had higher expectations for their seasons but they’re only thinking about themselves when complaining. The Wizards had tons of injuries and COVID stuff this season so they’d be tanking if there was no tournament. The leading scorer in the NBA and a guy averaging a triple double for the 4th season. Their team would be trying to intentionally lose games. The Warriors would be in the same boat. Great point AF. I do support the play in as a way to make up for the lost regular season games during these last 2 seasons of the Covid era. Not to mention going forward starting in the fall for the 21-22 full 82 games games played from Mid November and the NBA Finals. However if the play-in round does continue make it only for the #8 and #9 seeds in each conference. Plus on a radical proposal further developing SAS concern, if the #8 and #9 in 1 conference are below .500 winning pct. (example the below .500 teams are in the East) then the other conference in this case the West in my scenario would get the last 2 spots for the play in game.

the play-in tournment makes it more competitive. Teams from 5-12 are all fighting for position and that's great for the nba. If you want to protect yourself, you need to get a 1-4 seed. It makes the regular season matter much more

As a fan I'm Looking forward to the play-ins - the only tweak I would make for next season, and it would maybe make the players happier too, would be not to have 7-10, but instead, have 8-11 do a mini final four for the 8th seed - still exciting, still some chances for Lower teams, but 7th seed won't get anxious
