Oregon is consistently near the Top 10 of most viewed teams (12th in 2022, avg 2.2M per game). Colorado only had the top spot vs CSU, week 2 Texas vs Bama had the most, and week 1 LSU vs FSU had the most. Now that we're finally in the meet of the conference schedule, let's see who gets the most eyeballs. The beginning of the year is full of cupcake games that people skip over, but now is when people get serious.

This Colorado season is really just an advertisement for recruits next year. We are overprotective at times of our own but this dude's speech was on point. Back when I played football we had speeches like this before every game. It was always about what "they" were doing to hype us up. Colorado State's coach made things personal whereas this coach took shots but it was about football. I find it funny how people are super protective of Prime when Prime is and has always been the ultimate trash talker. As long as that trash talk pertains to football, there's nothing wrong with any of it.

Oregon did what Oregon was supposed to do with a team in the top 10 with a 21 point line at home. However, let's not get this twisted. Dan Lanning walked into a powerhouse program and kept it running, Coach Prime is building his from scratch. Better get him now because this is as bad as Colorado is going to get.
@RobbieStacks90
@RobbieStacks90 Жыл бұрын
No, it's gonna get worse for Colorado. They'll probably be able to score a decent amount against USC, but now's when the losing streak starts. Don't forget - this wasn't just a personnel issue. Deion Sanders was thoroughly outcoached, and no one regards Dan Lanning as anything more than an average coach. It wasn't like Jim Harbaugh or Kirby Smart beat him. Even with four- and five-star players, a team still needs a competent coach, and, as it stands, Deion is 0-2 in bowl games, losing both times as double-digit favorites. The media has embellished his actual coaching ability...

I'll be 100 percent honest, this game went pretty much as I expected. Now, I did say in another thread that I thought 21-points was a HUGE spread when matching two Power 5 conference teams against each other. With that in mind, I did not think betting on Colorado to cover the spread was the worst decision if someone wanted to do that. But after this game, seeing how Oregon's offensive and defensive lines dominated that game ... I was surprised that Colorado could do absolutely nothing to stop it from happening. I knew those key positions were not up to snuff yet, but I had no idea that they were THAT far behind. Deion has already proven he can recruit skill positions. I am interested to see how long it takes before he can pull in the big boys.

Anybody who was being realistic about comparing the actual teams over focusing on the hype train knew Colorado wasn’t up that level yet. I didn’t expect them to get demolished to the extent they did but I didn’t expect them to win this game but was unrealistically hopeful it could happen somehow. But Oregon is an established strong program versus what Colorado is and I do believe this is the weakest they’ll ever be as Deion has time to continually recruit and build the team. I did think a 21 point spread was huge because that’s a ton to beat anybody by even if you’re superior to them. But anybody who thought Colorado would truly win didn’t feel that way based on any actual metric of talent but out of emotion. Rational people knew the wake up call was bound to come eventually and this was it. The same is probably coming against USC.

The OL is so bad, there's not much they can do differently. Oregon got pressure with just their front four, not blitzes. Colorado has allowed 23 sacks in just four games, while last year's 1-11 team allowed 23 sacks the whole season. Colorado is on pace to set an all-time record for sacks allowed. That should be their motivation. Put away any thoughts of beating USC. Try something achievable, like limiting hits on Shedeur to single digits and maybe 1 sack allowed. Have a goal of not being shutout in the 1st half. Work on not being embarrassed. Baby steps. The PAC-12 schedule, especially in this last year of the conference, is way too much for the Buffalos to handle, so they need to work on not looking like a high school team playing a pro team.

Recently, they've done well in recruiting, but that's because Oregon had Mario Cristobal. That pipeline is now going to the U, who also are making a resurgence. Once Lanning has all of his classes in and all of Cristobal's players are gone, I'd be willing to bet there's gonna be a dropoff. Plus, Oregon's going to the Big 10, where instead of being a big fish in a medium pond, they're going to be a medium fish in a huge lake. (IMO, only the SEC is better) Oregon's 2023 class was ranked 9th, 2024's is already down to 12th and dropping with no 5 star recruits.

What people are not getting is that, when Deion as a head coach, is bringing all of this attention to himself and Colorado. He's doing it to convince recruits to pick Colorado over those other schools to beat those other schools and those coaches at other schools get paid not to let that happen. So when the Oregon coach says he what he says to his players in pregame, yes their is emotion involved but its also competitive strategy. He has to counter what Deion is doing to beat him. He's playing the same game that Deion is playing and they're both trying to win. People are trying to make it deeper than what it is. The business of sports is attention, winning, and revenue. And all coaches are trying to accomplish those things.

I am so tired of these national media people not understanding and disrespecting, Oregon. Shannon Sharpe I like him, but he does not know diddley squat when it comes to college football or at least when it comes to Oregon. Oregon is top 15 every year in viewership, so yeah bro people watch Oregon it’s not because of Colorado. The speech that Dan Lanning said was because everybody in the media on ESPN and Fox Sports on the shows just like first take we’re picking Colorado, so they felt disrespected. Also, for the record, we didn’t change our jerseys until we were winning Pac 12 titles. Yes, we were trendsetters and had style as the jerseys but we release those in 2009 2010 we were competing for Pat for championships and rose bowls and national championships around that time. We got media hype for changing the game of football, and that’s when we changed our jerseys which was wins. People be talking about Oregon or their history not knowing anything like Keyshawn Johnson and Shannon Sharpe 277 jerseys and zero championships they haven’t done anything. Not knowing Oregon is at the very least a top 10 program the last 15 years.

I seriously see USC coming close to 60, they’ll give up a few more points than Oregon because let’s face it, their defense hasn’t improved that much, but I still see a 62-24 sort of game. Colorado was a hoax coached by a very popular talking head. But talking heads rarely have the requisite X’s and O’s knowledge needed to coach

USC isn’t on Oregon’s level defensively. So this week’s game would be much more interesting. Colorado +23.5 vs USC is the lock of the game. Colorado will move the chains, Colorado will score much more than they did against Oregon.

I disagree. USCs DL is better than Oregon's. The Ducks got those sacks with just the front four pushing their way through that Swiss Cheese OL of Colorado. The Trojans will be having a party in the Buffs backfield all night. There's no rush to keep defenses honest, so the DL can headhunt Shedeur with impunity. I bet Shedeur gets injured in this game. He has already taken more shots than any QB in FBS this year and it has to be taking a toll. USC has some 300 lbs DL that are faster than Shedeur. There's no escape.

I do think the problem that a lot of people have with how Deion is going about it is that he’s speaking directly to the black cultural zeitgeist when he does what he does, and because racism still exists people are going to have a problem with that. It may be a little less obvious just because it’s football and most of the athletes that play are gonna be black anyways, so like his recruiting classes aren’t gonna look much different from a lot of others, but it’s not really speaking to the white kids out there unless they’re immersed in that kind of cultural language… although a lot more are nowadays than ever before just due to the popularity of things like rap and obviously plenty of black football players on predominantly white high school teams too, although I wouldn’t imagine you’re gonna see a lot of white recruits going to Colorado out of places like Nebraska or Utah or the like where a more conservative white culture still reigns… but the point is the same that many white racists are going to have a problem with that kinda thing where Deion isn’t catering to white recruits. Like, I’m sure there will be some, because they’re good and they buy into the culture and of course you’ll take them… but he’s building a team like Miami back in the day, and others are saying as much… they’re already being called Black America’s team. So, it’ll certainly be polarizing to many… although I’m here for it honestly. It’s refreshing to see a black coach be able to fully be themselves… not that no others have been but it’s rare to see one who is unapologetically black and who is not only culturally relevant amongst black culture but is an active participant in it in virtually every aspect but he’s not coming out code switching to talk white in front of the media or boosters and then letting it out in practice. I think it’s good for people to see someone like Prime be successful at the highest level while not doing the things he would’ve been expected to in the past to be considered eligible for that job or for the media to cover him in a positive light. I really think it speaks to the progress we’ve made racially, even if we have a long ways to go. I think it will help tremendously towards that progress as well, although I’m certain there will be ugly moments along the way that prove the amount of work we have left.

"Immersed in that kind of cultural language" as you spoke about white Kids... What you mean were those White people who grow up in Poverty just like the Blacks Do... While you sit in some Elitist White Establishment now acting like you are the Moral Police for everyone on the planet! Have you ever been in a place where you were scared to get out of your car at night? Have you ever been in a place like Atlanta where you had Bars on your Window to protect you and your family? Have you ever been in a place where you delivered a Pizza and some Crackhead pulled a Gun on you and said "I'm not paying for this Pizza" as you saw kids running around and needles on the floor as the kids were barefoot and starving? I doubt it, but you want to come on here and espouse your "White Privilege Views" that go against the Bible and Jesus. What would you do if Deion (claiming he believes in God and Jesus) actually came out and said... This is what the Bible says and what Jesus stands for and you cannot support or vote for any platform that supports Abortion or goes against Jesus and what The Bible Teaches! Wow, I bet you would change your White Liberal Tune then!

So when a coach hypes their team up its usually fine, but against Colorado and Deion Sanders its a problem? Did they forget Colorado players stomping and digging their cleats into Oregons logo before the game? And god forbid you dont cheer on and root for Deion or its racist. Media continues to slobber all over Deion's crotch. Thats why people are rooting against Colorado.
