It cheapens it even more than Westbrook bc Westbrook wasn't near the bottom of the league (-15) in "on/off # per 100 possessions", the gold standard in determining how impactful counting stats are.
@swpdisciple
@swpdisciple 13 сағат бұрын
@ I’m not sure where that number is coming from or what the context is but basketball reference says he’s 115 offensive/117 def rating so -2.0 which isn’t good especially vs his historical 116/105 but we also have to see what lineups he runs with. I know typically LBJ prefers to be in lineups with the lesser players after the first 8 minutes or so of starters. That’s been his MO since the first 7 years with Cleveland. His defensive box +/- is -0.4 (negative for the first time since his rookie season but he has one of the best defensive field goal percentages in the league (39.4% last I saw). I’d need to break down film but it seems to indicate that he’s mostly solid individually defensively (obviously not 2013 Lebron) but JJ has him playing with the bench a lot to steady the ship. He also plays of the ball more which I’ve noticed is messing with the flow of his game. He’s averaging 3.9 TO/game while he’s usually closer to 3.5. The season is still early though.

@@lonwoolf7370 situational stat padding. Staying in games decided games as a lone starter or with one or another starter. Scoring bursts once the opposing team has sent in their white flag. He does these things despite being the oldest player, then later have media complain about his minutes played when he loses games he should win to have a built in excuse. He literally has no reason to still be in the nba. He’s not been competitive and has been in the playin every year but 1 since he got to LA. He does not play to win, he plays to look good. So that even in losses he can say/have his media talk heads say “I/he did my/his job.” He has not played any defense for YEARS. He does nothing on the defensive side to save himself to get stats on the offensive side. He has ushered in this non-defensive NBA that runs and guns. He’s always been afraid to defend the opposing teams best player and to close out games on offense. Which used to be the essence of NBA basketball. The game changed for the worse while he was at the helm.

Because the manipulative media decorates him regardless of whatever he does and doesn't, and the puppet fanboys miraculously look away from any of his numerous flaws and only cheer for whatever the media sells. Therefore there is absolutely no need for him to play D with the only exception of free defensive rebounds his servant teammates serve to him every game. He only cares about what can give him more numbers on the paper. This stat padder is the biggest fraud in the league history backed up fully by the combined efforts of the media, fandom and the league itself.

LeBron is almost 40. That's why he can't hustle back on Defense. The other side to that is that he also should be playing fewer minutes. When you're on the court with a guy who is going to lead the team in turnovers, the last thing you want to do is take years off of your career sprinting back on Defense after his turnovers while he gets paid significantly more than you and he doesn't even sprint back to play D.

You cannot be the goat and you don't play defense 🤷🏿‍♂️. You cannot brag about having a triple double at 39 and then turn around and have an excuse for not playing defense at 39 Michael Jordan got votes for an all defensive team at the age of 40 with a bad knee so I'm sick of this b*******😡. So Stephen A is willing to give LeBron a pass on defense and critique the others? That sounds idiotic as LeBron is still considered a top player in the league and gets praised for his offensive numbers, but he gets excuses for his defensive liabilities. He constantly argues with refs about bad calls and consistently leaves his teammates in 4 on 5 mismatches because he doesn't get back on defense. It's typical Stephen A, passive-aggressively criticizing the team's bigger issues without calling out the root cause...LeBron.

Before he step foot in the NBA he was already being called the chosen one, but there was nothing chosen about him because he has been a complete joke ever since he step foot in the NBA he cannot win championships unless he has top 10 superstars on his team and even with that he fails he chokes in the finals has been swept it has turned the MB to a total joke. He took a well respected, franchise the LA Lakers and turned them into the biggest joke in NBA history. We’re so sick of LeBron James and it’s time for him to just step away and hopefully the NBA will get back to his former glory. The reason he doesn’t retire is because he knows that once he does, he will be forgotten and he will be exposed for the fraud that he is.

LeBron has been around too long to take this kind of bait from Stephen A Smith. Stephen A Smith's job as an Entertainer is partially to be a provocateur. So no, this won't get "ugly"

7:41 wrong he expose that truth in his last series against the Celtics when he used his elbow as an excuse and started shooting free throws left-handed and this was with the Cavs his last season. That’s when everybody noticed it. Then the off-season came. We never heard another mention about his elbow being injured, and then he chose to go to the Miami Heat. But while he was with the calves, I always knew he was a stat patter. Everybody else was too dumb to see it.
