It worked out until they cancelled the show and let go of Keyshawn and Max. People changing shows because of chemistry issues( which is the entire objective) is Standard Industry Practice. It is incredibly common and not the same as getting someone fired. Max also had his own show. Max was forced on Stephen A when Skip left by the bosses. It was a mistake from the beginning.

Marcellus Wiley never said Stephen A. was “scared” of Max’s intellect. He said Stephen A. wanted Max to play the role of the “dumb white guy” when it came to Black & social topics for the sake of putting on a superficial “white America vs Black America” dynamic on TV.
