I don't understand the downvotes, to me this sounds really really good

I will be honest, I enjoyed his performance when I saw it, as he had a nice stage presence and his voice was for the most part quite beautiful, despite this unfortunate aria, and a few other testy moments.

One of the most beautiful tenor voices to appear on stage in the last 15 years, now with great problems on high notes, because of an imperfect technic and too much job.

It may be that Costello does not quite make the downward spirals at the end, but he understands the drama in the music and does not slow down (as do Kunde and Merritt) in order to hit every note. There is passion here, and despite the fact that it was opening night, the performance of this aria, in my view, was superior to the one on HD broadcast.

His premature Met debut in 'Lucia' was a big mistake. He had to push to be heard and he's been pushing ever since.

why post something if you don't like it??? most be for spite from another tenor or another agent. I thought Stephen was great on opening night.

I believe someone who sings in four Met productions per year should be subject to the highest scrutiny

Assez cohérent, mais un grain dans le timbre qui n'est pas de bonne augure.
