Stephen Fry would be such a delightful person to know. Imagine for a second if he was your favourite uncle... You'd never read a stupid self help book again. You could just ask him for a piece of his mind. I'm really glad that he is out there on KZbin, we are all better for it.

I think you're right, my Uncle has Aspergers and he is an awkward person to be around and a trial to talk to. I do however do try to talk to him, he comes up with things that make me think once in a while. He's not a techno-literate person but he has nearly all our family history in his head.

@arsbroct I agree, with that, although to feel strong in ones own mind with wisdom, which one can share with others as a leader and a equal all at once, comes from the ability to know ones self entirely and to know ones self entirely while being able to share ones self with others is also one of the greatest things a human being can achieve, thank you for your inspirational comment :)

he's so right about the goals
@ruttergod13 жыл бұрын
Setting goals is fine. The problem is WHY we set the goals we set. For instance, if your mom needs surgery but can't afford it, and neither can you afford it, you might set a goal and work hard toward getting enough money to get her the surgery. That is a wholesome goal which I think destiny will support as you work toward it. Problem is we're a bunch of intellectual animals running around setting nothing more than self-centered, egotistical goals. There is little love in our daily motivations.

Of course you're right. Romania also has many great thinkers and many of them achieved important things.But the bottom line is drawn when the respective country acknowledges its smart people. Brancusi has his own museum in Paris, while in Romania they tried to pull down one of his sculptures with a tractor. I've lived in the UK for 3 years now and although some people still regard me as a low life immigrant, I've had a better time making a name for myself here.Enjoy your country, it's a good one

@arsbroct while conversing and stimulating the mind with speech, the interactive outer senses are provoked in to responding to stimulation with another human being, while the inner being is also engaged in this interaction at a responding and engaging level, the inner being the higher self is seldom engaged in that situation. although often is the case, while a human becomes solitary, does the mind, soul and spirit become engaged, while thought and extra sensory, fulfillment begins to take shape

All this talk as if Fry is some thug who won the jackpot. If he was innately odious he'd still be a criminal. This is clearly a case of a troubled (and to a certain extent oppressed) but talented young man, discovering a means of creativity and self expression. Once he mixed with similarly high functioning individuals surrounded by a vast archive of knowledge to stimulate him, he became hooked on good honest work. It means with lots of dedication and a bit of luck, you can turn your life around.

you have i list of traits that if people have you write them off as negative. let me tell you. a few years ago i had a mouth virus unbenknownst to me because i didnt floss. during that time i felt tired constantly physically and mentally irritable got angry over everything and felt like shit 24/7 it was only a matter of pure luck that i tried flossing one day and my condition disappeared. if you had known me during that time you would probably have written me off but does that make me worthless?

I have to say that i disagree on his point of view on goals because it isn't only the end result that matters. It is in my humble opinion the journey, the learning experiences and the getting to know ones self along the way that is almost always more important than the destination.

@thebigdawg61 I suppose that's the thing about taste, everyone is entitled to their own preferences. I can understand why you'd think that way, but you'll find that anyone willing to given their views on things will be disliked by some, and there's nothing wrong with that. That's just human nature.

Why does stephen fry care so much about being liked, life isn't about being like life is about living, being nice to each other, some people are introvert some extrovert, we all have different opinions that's what makes it fun, why just do things to be liked watching this makes people feel 10 again Oh OH no people won't like me. he did say a few great things and one was definitely talk to more people and be nice to each other and the more people you talk to the more you get out of life :)

yes i find the human obsession with oneself quite interesting in the fact that we say say things like my computer or my house which in a way does belong to you and that there is no other way to put that without saying my but then we say thing like MY girlfriend or my father or my mother or my pet, instead of I am her boyfriend or I am his/her son. Another thing i find interesting is our obsession and yet shame of sex but i don't have the characters necessary for that!
