I have never been so enthralled in a novel in all my life, in the week I was reading it I spoke of nothing else to friends work colleagues etc. I wanted this book to last for a year!

Page 461 now. Its one of those that you dont want to end. Detective novel, heartbreaking romance, Cold war dissemination. The guy just takes genres and plays effortlessly with them. But this isnt a genre novel, its just exactly what it is, as close as we are ever going to get to understanding the historical pivot that was 1963. The Cuban missile crisis experienced in a Texan bar, The narrator being the only one who knows how it pans out, is among the best King Ive read. Thats saying a lot.

King's right about that! I was thirteen, in the 8th grade, on that November Friday. The whole world seemed to freeze-frame. Then on Sunday, leaving church, we found out that live on TV, Oswald was shot. It was a helluva weekend. The series was very well-done.

Loved the book... Never saw the Hulu presentation... I've read many of his novels over time and enjoyed every one of them... I realize that everyone is entitled to a view and opinion, but for the life of me, I would NEVER have realized that Mr. King supports the "Single Shooter Theory" in the actual JFK assassination...

Loved the book. Finished it 2 days ago. I’m on the 4th episode of the show and I don’t know why it’s not going in the direction of the book. The main plot is there but there are so many changes that I think are completely unnecessary. The parts in the book are more suspenseful then what they are trying to do in the show. I could’ve handled minor changes but it’s almost as if I’m watching a completely different story.

I think Stephen King should write a book about the nature of his own ever-unfolding inner core, where all those intriguing storylines come from. I don’t think anything would be more terrifyingly captivating than that. It would be his one true masterpiece.

That’s like how They showed it on quantum leap when Sam lent into Oswald. [SPOILER] Didn’t actually do anything to stop it from happening because of just how “important” of an event it was. I didn’t know about this book, I may just have to get it.

When you go into the past and change something major, you could change your course of life prior to going into the past, which might make you not go into the past the first time, so that does not compute.

The book was great; the miniseries they made of it, however, stinks to high heaven. They totally butchered the hell out of it and I wish he'd discuss somewhere WHY he allowed them to do it. Surely, he didn't need the money that badly to allow his best work EVER to be butchered. The Stand was almost as long and yet the miniseries they made of it followed the book extremely closely.
