Any amount of material gain born out of consequences arising from the murder of your child is not anywhere near as important as it is in countries such as the USA, justice is served on the accused in the UK - not for material gain of 3rd party victims. For having such unconditional determination, both Doreen and Neville will be remembered and respected for generations. Let’s not forget their achievements in improving the standard of policing, the law on double jeopardy and race relations in the UK, which we should all be very grateful for. RIP Stephen

Perhaps the U.S. should consider changing our double jeopardy laws. Prosecutors often hold back because they know they only one chance. Let a jury hear what they have and let them decide. Perhaps criminals can be removed from society sooner and provide justice for the victims, not the criminal.

The fact that there were several racist comments left on this site is so disheartening. Small minded racist "people" who are nothing but offensive to civilized society. Must take a lot of energy to hate so much so I guess all I can do is feel sorry for them. Bless the family of this poor man and their struggle to find justice for him. I'd like to hope that this case changed some laws regarding discrimination but only time will tell. When will people ever learn - our blood is all the same.

Racism in the UK is endemic. It is a product of the indigenous culture born of a superiority complex that remains today albeit more subtle in form. More worryingly, institutionalized racism is ever present and thus, the very fibre of this society is the cause of the racial unrest in all its forms. Accordingly, minorities will continue to feel foreign, rejected for their racial inferiority. It is a common trait of an island nation and as such, a genetic mutation.

Alot of people have already pointed out that the verbal dialect and speaking accent of modern young Londoners nowadays has certainly become very Jamaicanized - compared to the old cockney accent /dialect of the white Londoners interviewed by the police in the investigation. (Jamie, Neil, David, Gary, Luke) But allow me to point out that the mindset of many young Londoners regarding the carrying of knives remains the same whether they are Black or White. Violence is violence - the only difference is that its less about race nowadays and more about power and control - regardless of the skin colour of the victims versus the skin colour of the perpetrators.

When blood spatters tiny amounts can go everywhere and little drops dry very quickly and are so small they're invisible to the naked eye. Blood and DNA can literally be lifted from any surface these days due to advances in forensic science. How do you think Sarah Payne's killer was caught? They found her DNA and fibres in his van and on the velcro strap of her shoe velcro holds every and anything it comes into contact with. Identifying and using DNA did not come about until 1986 I think by professor Alec Jefferies and it was so sought after his lab had requests from all over the world from police forces and the FBI before his discovery was utilised and put into practise and with the new advances your practically leave your DNA amd fingerprints anywhere
