Harvard professor Stephen M. Walt says that liberalism is under threat due to several factors, including policy blunders in Europe and the United States, a misunderstanding of self-determination, and a corrupt political class.

This guy really nailed it - and he did it 5 years ago! Many millions of people still don't get these things.

If it was hold internal Liberalism was good for the western countries. It could have spread to eastern europe and Nafta and the pacific. But it was the idea of international solidarity (Is that liberal or scialistic or communistic....?) that lead us to globalism without any border between western and other cultures. And now it is rejected by some groups but the majority is still pushing for this multi-culturalism. So maybe to early to say it went wrong.

My question is: in 50 to 75 years, will democracy survive?

It will ..but if america keeps doing their regime change ...b3cause to protect their state leaders will turn to authoritarianism...example would be russia ...until 2010 under putin and Medvedev west recognised russia as democracy though not perfect democracy ...but after libya war in 2011 russia changed under putin ...

You're not accurate about Trump and fail to mention that he learned on different matters and changed his view. He's not from the establishment.

The liberal states held their borders open. There is strong resentment of open borders in the US, UK, Italy, Hungary, Germany and Poland will have none of it. You're way off pushing this as racism.
