that school where he found out the professor was dead - that's my university!! it's called Concordia University and it's in Montreal. I'm in the sciences department but a friend in the fine arts who knew people taking that class texted me about it a few days ago. I believe the professor had given permission for the material to be used after his death. (and it's around 5k USD per year if you're a canadian citizen, 100k+ is the states)
