how the hell did you two persuade Wolfram to give an interview... and your interview technique is brilliant... which is to give the guest the floor with light touch questions...

a particularly good contextualising question around the fact that Stephen isnt an LLM person, hes a particle physicist.

Sometimes... I have this weird idea that Prolog(yeah that programming language) is the answer to resolve the hallucination problems that LLMs currently have.... How? idk, maybe transforming Facts, from the current context into Horn sentences, and the logically connect those facts, but we need to teach how to do that to the LLM? Maybe?

Wow how do you guys get a chance to have an interview with these gurus when you have less than 3k subscribers? Absolutely mind blowing

hard to believe that people have already forgotten the fundamental paper written by the University of Toronto group: Attention is all you need. (2017)

Is this interivew outdated already given what has happened in the last 2 weeks?

Not at all. The fundamentals are still applicable. And Stephen’s insights still apply as well.

SW is too simplistic on his view on the need for hallucinations. You could in principle design an LLM so that both "Write a factual book about X, and do not make up absolutely anything pertaining to X" and "Write a fictional novel, and do make up everything in the story" could work just fine, as desired.

This is great and I'm going to have to find the time to watch it all. Nature evolved the human brain in a large period of time and it's basically a biological computer. So now we are building non human intelligence which will evolve over time but much more quickly.

There's something wrong with the start of that video. It seems you cut it in middle of something. Anyway, as far as the book goes, it's one of the worst I've read on the subject. Avoid.
