Stephen A, I'll be honest with you.. Luka was going to struggle regardless, before the series even started. Boston knew in their mind before game 1, how they were going to guard Luka. The other teams (other than Edwards and Thunder) couldn't contain Luka, because they didn't guard him right. If you were paying attention to how the Celtics were guarding Luka. The key was, is that they stayed disciplined defensively, by KEEPING THEIR FEET ON THE GROUND, when guarding Luka. Luka is very simple when handling the ball. Luka has to rely on creating seperation, in order to score, because he's TO SLOW. Luka has to rely on creating seperation, in order to shoot the ball, because his shot is TO SLOW. He's just TO DAMN SLOW. He has to rely on screens to create (seperation) open lanes, for him to get to the basket. His stepbacks (seperation) are the reason he does them alot. Because "HE'S TO SLOW". He drives to the basket, picks up his dribbles and pumpfake numerous of times. That's creating "seperation" for him. And he expects his defender to initiate the contact, so he can draw the foul and get to the line. Instead of him being physical and forcing the contact and getting to the line himself. When Boston is guarding him and keeping their feet on the ground. This takes away Luka's ability to draw fouls, which leaves him jammed up. Having to either shoot the ball at a difficult shot or him passing the ball, which is more likely. Plus he picks his dribbles up to much, which allows the defenders, to reestablish themselves. Boston guarded him right, by not leaving Luka no room for "seperation", get up tight on him and keep your feet on the ground. This is why Luka has been playing the way he's been playing in this series. Yea he averaged 30 a game in this Finals, but look at how many attempts he's taking. Look at the shots selections he's taking and how tough his shots were. Luka needs to get more moves in his bag, he needs to slim down a lil, work on cardio and speed. And he DEFINITELY NEEDS TO WORK ON GETTING BETTER DEFENSIVELY.

Put it this way, only five teams ever in the history or the nba, nhl, or mlb have ever done it. The red sox obviously are the most well known team to come back down by 3, also there was four nhl teams, two of which were in the 30s and 40s. There have been no nba team ever to come back from 3-0, it might happen sometime, but the mavs, are absolutely not gonna be the team I'd pick to do it. They might win 2 games, then i think they'll get blasted in a game 6. Also, if this was on the other foot, and the Celtics were down by 3, i would pick the Celtics to come back and win it. The Celtics are one of the few teams in the nba that i would feel comfortable if they were down by 3, to pick them to win the series. Jason kidd has done a good job as coach, and i think he'll probably win a title as a coach, but not this year, and probably not with the mavs.

This is how Dallas has built there team around luka and this is what happens when you have good enough defenders to not double team luka those guys are play finishers not play creators if luka wants to win he needs to play defense and learn to play off the ball sometimes so they can change this team. If he went off ball his team wouldnt score at all due to no shot creations outside Kyrie. Boston knows if they force him to play defense all game they will win because he's their only offense.
