Some of my best earliest memories revolve around obsessively watching every episode, movie, and playing the games. My best friend Greg (who is no longer with us) and I bonded over it and would rush home after school to watch it at one of our house’s. I remember the feeling of each episode ending in a cliffhanger and wanting to cryo freeze myself just so I could watch the next one. My other best friend Garrett (Sadly still with us; jk) and I had countless battles in Budokai 3 that I’ll never forget. Goku was and is my favorite character of all time because despite being the strongest, he embodies kind heartedness in the most genuine ways ive ever seen displayed in any art form. He helped me always aspire to be better, enjoy the rush of competition, never give up despite the odds, and to always embrace my silly side. The term ‘legend’is thrown around way too loosely, however, Toriyama was truly a legend. Thank you for the memories. R.I.P. #AkiraToriyama”
