I like Ryan Clark, but I lost a degree of respect for him after the super bowl when he admitted on live TV that he was relieved that Brock Purdy finally showed his true colors before the entire world because now he can stop pretending that Purdy is elite. Clark went on to lament how for the past several weeks he had to get on television every week and lie about his true feelings on Purdy, and he's looking forward to putting that time behind him. That really made me question his authenticity as an analyst. He doesn't say what he truly thinks, apparently. He jumps on the bandwagon with whatever is popular, and then jumps off as soon as it becomes unpopular. I would have respected him a lot more if he had been dumping on Purdy even when everyone else was showering him with accolades. But instead, he chose to lie about how he felt, and then admit on live TV that he'd been doing it. Ryan Clark is a lot of things, but authentic ain't one of them.
