I know you’re a pro, Stephen, but this is a masterpiece. The effort you put in to getting different angles, slo-mo, aerial shots and wide-angle stuff is second-to-none. Then there’s the audio - whether it’s backing music or effects, it just fits so well. The colour grading makes a huge difference to the drama and some of the shots are out of this world. Really appreciate the work you put in to the whole process. Awesome.
@StephenJReid Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Ste 🙂 I put a ton of work into the edit of this and glad it’s paid off! Colour graded most of the shots separately, with 3 stage grade and matched all 4 cameras etc. wanted every key shot to be graded like a photograph. Normally I’d pressure myself to get a video out in a week. Have myself two weeks so I could take my time. L

Another great post. Although our Welsh mountains are not very high they do cause Mnt rescue teams & helicopters to be busy the year round so knowing your level like the people you met before the ridge is very important. Crib Goch is so dangerous in non-ideal conditions it's great you chose not to tackle it. I'm loving the quality of your pictures btw. Diolch. N Wales.

Hey Stephen. This is a 💯 awesome video, thankyou so much for sharing. I followed to Rhyd Ddu path on Sat 19th Aug, the morning after Storm Betty landed in Wales! We (me and my friend) got to approx point 10.52 in your video and I had to turn round. I was too scared. Very narrow, very windy, very high & very slippery; I hate heights. We were only about 0.2 miles from the summit but I honestly had to stop! I said I'd wait for my friend if he wanted to carry on but he was very apprehensive as well. Going back down was scarier then going up! That said, it was an amazing experience and a round trip of 7miles. I so wish I could've continued 😭
@StephenJReid Жыл бұрын
Thank you Martin! Sorry you didn’t make it to the summit, but always better to trust your instincts. If it had of been crazy windy when I was up I’d maybe not have done the ridge bit. Definitely scarier coming down a ridge too than going up!

Knowing when to turn around is a great skill - the mountain will still be there for you to try again in better, safer conditions, it's not worth risking your life for.
