Just the best single oscillator per voice synths ever made. I'm certain that even Roland's current employees don't quite know how to fully recreate the experience. It has to be a true vintage 6, 60 or at a push, 106

I've done a few songs using only this synth to make the layers and just recently made a new track using this mono mode (Expressive LFO on my channel) thanks to you pointing it out. It really helps bring out bass and kicks and more.

Hi, I hope u see this. I got inspired by how you play your Juno-60, I think it's also gonna be my dream synth. Though, I have a question. How do you do synthesis with it? I can't seem to find any oscillators with different waveforms to choose from. I have some experience with synthesis, but with vst plugins like Serum... The workflow is different and the tone is really far off. I love how the Juno does the lead and chord sounds. I especially love these sounds 2:36 a close filtered sawtooth that gets open by an envelope At 6:65 a filtered sound with chorus 8:19 trippy wavy lead 8:43 filtered sound, but I guess it still has the same preset or oscillator waveform? How do you make these sounds? Via the presets or you also do synthesis by yourself in your Juno?

Square Wave, Saw Wave, Sub oscillator, and Noise. Those are the choices. And yes I made these sounds.

Crazy that J60's are going for close to $2k these days. Bought one in '03 for $300 which came with the Kenton DCB to Midi Box. I'm seriously thinking about having the Juno-66/tubbutec kit installed. Spoke to my local tech guy who has done a few and he says it works wonderfully and really 'opens up' the synth. Still researching it.... ;)

It has a lot of cool performance and sequencing functions but in the other hand connecting midi IN and OUT at the same time produces some looping issues with some sequencers... that's my experience at least with Cirklon, so I need to keep unplugged one of the two midi cables each time, a bit annoying... nonetheless very cool midi kit.

It is very 80's. I just got a JD XA paired it with a JD 800. I recorded my setting up t he after touch and pitch bend. I don't want to be rude and post a link but i recorded it and posted it. I used to have an old poly 800 cx 101 and sq 80. oh yeah, and the greatest most stable synth ever made... Prophet 5.... :) Now i use a krome, jd800 phantom, jd xa and a DM12. It is an inspiring setup. i do love analog, thinking about building a euro rack. Junos are nice. Those vintage synths are tough to keep working.

Great demo!, it sounds fatter in poly mode with only one voice per note due to the fact that in unison, there is no detune parameter and the DCOs are slaved to the same master clock so the phasing is so tight there are no minute variances voice to voice and it sounds very harsh. Also, you'll notice the phasing issue in unison causes the low frequencies to cancel each other out drastically.
@kiko19354 жыл бұрын
Man my jx8p has that same harsh unison as well! I can't seem to detune it, maybe you can't?
@RonnieAugeri4 жыл бұрын
@@kiko1935 Took a look at the owners manual for you (it's on google) and you can. In unison you can then press the 'Master Tune' button which changes from a tuning function to a UNISON DETUNE function- adjust this to 'fatten up' the sound to taste.

Orange Drink Music I have the JU-06 and the sound is somewhat similar, but the sliders and knobs are so small it can be hard to dial in the sound you want. JU-06 is better for touring since it’s smaller and more easily replaceable.

How exactly did you do the chord memory function? When i try it, the sound doesn't reload, when you do it, you can hear the attack of the filter again. ( : (love the google eyes over the dcb by the way)

So I tried to access banks 8 & 9 and Walla. I tried to save a new patch that I had been playing with and found it would not save. I noticed after watching the video again that you had put in, at the top of the screen "Unfortunately you can't overwrite banks 8 & 9". Not sure why you cannot save anything there being as some of the patches are empty. Did I miss something? Btw, I loved the video and your original tune. Great stuff.

Amazing walkthrough and great song! One thing I did not get it is chord memory function. If you press hold button it suppose to hold down the chords or any key, note etc. right?
@StephenLearson6 жыл бұрын
DigitaleAnalogue the Hold button acts like a piano’s damper pedal (infinite sustain). But when you play a chord and engage the key transpose, it will allow you to transpose the chord with the touch of 1 key.

I think it really sounds nice ☺️ But I wish you kept more deep bass. Listened to the 8P demo too and you seem to be cutting the low end on the bass sounds? Any specific reason?
@StephenLearson5 жыл бұрын
Joachim you might be right about the lack of deep bass. Maybe I cut some of the deep lows to make way for the kick. Also, because the bass line is busy I opted for a more “present” bass sound rather than “deep.” Maybe I just mixed it too fast...

I don't understand the "chord memory" trick. When I press the hold button on my Juno and make a chord, it holds continuously and doesn't fade like your example... Also, your display is not showing any patch number, how is it possible you can hear a sound without a patch number in the display?...
