the fact that they are the same sounds is intentionally. the goal is that you should be able to go to any mcdonalds in the world and get the same thing so to speak. if u r a cook or a customer they whole point is to make it feel and taste the same. different parts of the world and all the basic sandwiches are there.

Worked at maccas for about 4 years a decade ago, could make them this neat while working twice as fast easily. He spread out the wrapped burgers way too much. He could do all the McDoubles and Double Cheeseburgers together, zip along with the mustard then the ketchup, recon and pickles then cheese and then spread them out as you wrap and probably save several minutes. If I had 40 burgers to make I'd aim to do at most five runs of eight burgers at a time, otherwise you're just wasting time going back and forward.

Agreed, back in my day when I still worked at McDonald's the best employees were those who understood how the kitchen was designed and how the workflow went. Stubborn people who just wanted to do their own thing just failed. Sure it's working like a robot some times because you're literally just doing what you're told but I had so much fun working at McDonald's. I wouldn't want to work there anymore because the job doesn't fit my current needs but I would love to go back for a day and just rock it. All new way of working these days though, McDonald's in the Netherlands works the same as how it's shown in these video's, before you'd just make runs of products at the grill which were stashed for a maximum of 10 minutes and you had some sort of supply of Big Macs and Quarterpounders and what not. Current process is more work for the kitchen but better product for the customer.

To be honest, as someone who's worked over 16 years in the business, he didn't do a bad job at all. It appeared though that there were staffing issues, and he had to balance being fast with filling multiple roles. Nobody is absolutely perfect at everything. Typically you're supposed to make 2 sandwiches at a time, however that is when you have a toaster person, and a cabinet person, to the left and right of the person dressing the sandwiches. That way it's faster, you can partially complete 2 sandwiches and work on the next while the cabinet person is wrapping them up, food is constantly moving and therefore your waiting times are very low.

So I have a serious question. I had my first filet o fish sandwich in probably 7-8 years, this past Friday night. Has the size of the fish filet been drastically reduced in that time? When I opened the box, I thought it was a sandwich meant for a child, it was that tiny..

look at the size difference between the regular hamburger and quater pounder, there are almost the same size now
@was1069 Жыл бұрын
no, they are still the same size. while everyone else in the industry has a much larger fish patty. it makes me wonder why they haven't increased the size. but it is still the same size. the racks that you cook them in still have the same spacing when u cook them so they are not or have not gotten smaller.
@markthacker9975 Жыл бұрын
@@sethterwilliger9434 by definition the amount of meat stays the same. Reg meat is used in the hamburgers which is a tenth of a pound (10:1), and quarter meat used for the quarters is a quarter of a pound (4:1). It might look different but the weight and therefore amount of meat is the same

Kind of interesting how making Big Macs have changed and sandwiches in general. We used to make 6 Big Macs at a time - the first step was to put 6 heels and 6 clubs in the toaster. while they were toasting, you dropped 12 10:1 patties on the grill. after the patties were dropped - you pulled the heels and clubs out of the toaster and put the 6 crowns in the toaster - you dressed the heels and clubs - mac sauce, rehydrated onions, lettuce, pickles on the clubs, cheese on the heel. after dressing the patties were ready, you pulled the patties off the grill and then pulled the crowns out of the toaster and assembled the Big Macs. about minute 30 secs to get 6 big macs fresh off the grill.
