It surprised me that the devs put in a way to push that box even if you destroy the intended pathing. Makes sense since they don’t wanna softlock you, but it still impressed me somehow.

For those who don't understand what "intended pathing" refers to, a solo (read: gun-less) player usually sends White Pikmin to destroy the poison spewers. After taking care of the first one, they'll naturally move towards the next one (since it's close enough to be automatically detected), and will repeat that process until they end up right next to the box, at which point they will automatically push it down as well.

(2:13 - 3:01) There's just something incredibly je ne sais quoi about Stephen getting annoyed that they just spent material and can't get the Plucking Whistle, only to let out a disinterested "thanks" when Schnauz gives them more than enough material to get it and then completely forgetting about the whole thing immediately.

27:39: They only tell you about the 1-pellets doubling, but other pellets actually give fewer Pikmin if they don't match. A 5-yellow carried by wings gives, I think, only 3 wings.

I agree with Stephen. Hearing anybody, much less Louie talk about how great a place is because it's *sticky* makes me seriously question what the hell they get up to in their spare time...

At first, I thought they gave purple flowers because you already brought 3 types into the cave with you, only to realize that was not the case. Maybe they didn't suggest purple because they aren't "necessary," just convenient to have

yeah think that's it, the game defaults to yellows if it only suggests two but you don't have enough for 50/50 which probably isn't the best, purples then reds probably would be along with maybe rocks, the game also tries not to assume you have the purple onion i imagine so giving chances to raise more with buds is nice though it's good they dont require that to get the toblerone like they did for the dumbell in pikmin 2

From a design standpoint, the developers can't be sure you have access to purple or white pikmin to bring into a cave. Both of those onions are from optional challenges. While they could code recommendations for the various permutations based on what you have, it's far easier and less error-prone to recommend you bring X and Y regardless, and give you the candypop buds to turn them into W as needed.

Note: If you don't have the purple onion yet, you can grind purples on the first floor of the Subterranean Swarm. That's how I did it.

Schnauz (or however that’s spelled) was saying there were only 23 more *new* treasures. There’s quite a few duplicates which is why the actual number left was bigger.
