Stepped Letters Design | Illustrator Text Effect Tutorial

Hello World, In this video, I'll show you how to design stepped type or text in a zig-zag manner. You can put this type of text in Posters, T-Shirts or other printable items. To keep a balance in design, put some nice text on empty space.
You can also use subtle gradients in the darker part which is vertical in this design.
Try to achieve the metallic look with metal gradients.

You can cut with lines instead of grid box, it leaves less trash to clean.

This effect will not work for me. I made the grid then I did the divide with the text so you can delete the stuff around the text. But the problem is when I grouped the parts you wanted to use the 3D rotate, it doesn't work. It did nothing for the sections of the text I selected?

OK so I´m getting really peed off now. Yesterday I replicated this effect no problem. Today, I get to the stage of -pathfinder-divide and I get a message saying that pathfinder effects should usually be used on groups, layers or type objects and it has no effect. PLEASE HELP!

First ungroup everything then with *Direct Selection Tool* , select shapes for making individual rows.
