I am looking for the term used on a staggered reggae beat with a repeated one count that is simultaneously played with the guitar, keys and bass, I'm sorry if that was vague but a good example is Damian Marley's live version of Jamrock at AOL at around 0:55 in the video

In Afro-Cuban music it's called the tresillo. I've heard people call it the surdo kick like from Brazilian samba. That rhythm is also common in the calypso drum set parts in Trinidad. But I don't know about dubstep.
