They are great people. I actually had a 25 year old hutterite man move onto my farm for a year because he wanted to get away from the colony for a while. I didn't charge him any rent because he was always willing to help me do farm work.

I love the simplicity of Hutterites. They don't have to worry about where their children are, get to interact with nature. I certainly wish I could back to living a simple life.
@blackalien6873

Umm...their children often run off the colony. So yea, they still have that worry. Only difference is they SHUN them if they refuse to come back. All the jobs are assigned and there is nepotism and favoritism just like in any other corrupt society. There is also spousal and child abuse just like anywhere else. Only difference is the victims are not empowered to assert their rights and humanity.

They're quite similar, and both groups have conservative sects and more liberal ones. Some Amish even use modern industrial machinery and tech for business. Both try to avoid bringing it into the home. A main difference is Hutterites live communally and don't own personal property; they're more collectivist than the Amish, who live on family farms.

Hutterites looks to be a very liberal community as compared to say the Amish and many Mennonite groups. That is a shame because history has shown that communities that progress down that path tend to lose in the end. This goes even for major religious groups like the Catholic and Baptist churches which are losing members in substantial numbers if not for migrants. Hutterites still have positive birth rate, but for how much longer? Wealth, liberalism tends to break down families and communities and separate them for their beliefs and traditions.

Louisa Capell. Hutterites in Mexico? I’m a Hutterite and I’ve never heard of any Hutterites in Mexico. They’re probably a group of outside ppl that formed their own community and called themselves Hutterites. Real “Hutterites” are only scattered around in South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Oregon, Washington, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Also, not all Hutterite communities take in outside ppl. Only a few Colonies do that, and they aren’t classed as Hutterites in our group anymore.

As an atheist, I recognize the wholesome goodness and respect these folks more than many others deluded about dieties.... What they all share in common is the programming of CHILDREN.... Hutterite kids are probably better equipped to thrive into adulthood.... but it's tragic when any human is denied the intellectual honesty of critical independent thinking needed to truly LOVE TRUTH .... Hope the kids get to reinvent / recreate themselves‼️
@leamarie5129
@leamarie5129 7 жыл бұрын
Those kids aren't denied anything. Those that wish to leave, do so under they're own free will, and many of them do. If they want a higher or better education or diploma they can get one. When they are ready to return home theyre welcomed back with open arms. The number one misconception about the Hutterites is that they're forced to stay on the colony against their will. Nothing could be further from the truth. These people are the kindest most generous ppl one could ever hope to meet

✔ I agree that they're exceptionally good, kind and loving people.... a beautiful example that many other cults can learn from. Few and rare are those who understand the important differences between conditioning / hypnosis versus meditation. Canada recently allowed legislation on " Freedom FROM Religion ".... it's a beginning.... Even at grade school level, kids need an opportunity to learn about the HOW and WHY various religions get invented. THE TRUTH AT ALL COSTS ‼️

Louisa Capell Communism don't equate to authoritarian, brutal forced dictatorships. Those countries aren't really communist. North Korea isn't really communist, it's an absolute monarchy masked behind the banner or socialism. Communism can actually mean anarchism, no government. Anyway the hutterites have socialism mastered. No rich, no poor, everyone contributes and no one is isolated within the community. I say they have it better than what most people, even in Canada.

@@leroywaldner4234 you're very defensive. You do believe that the path to Heaven is paved with hard work and commitment to community living. I talked personally with a girl who left the colony with her brother; he was gay and she supported him in leaving since Hutterites would never accept homosexuality. Her path was pre-determined, and it was one of hard work and subservient attitude to men, plus a belief that she should marry and bear children and work for the colony good the rest of her life. No opportunity for self-expression, she said. She now has a good job and can CHOOSE to marry or not, and actually loves her life in the city. But she has to ask PERMISSION to visit her family and her brother is not accepted. They condemn that he is gay.
