Totally agree about sorting issues with props before you store them away. I just replaced the 5V buck converter on my rocking chair with a speed controller so I can dial in the speed. I'm also designing more prop boards for 2018 that use an Arduino Nano as the CPU.

I've already set a couple of things aside for rebuilds for next year.

🤔 this may be the year we start getting into using the boards instead of old motion sensors and chase units. Been wanting to program props for a long time but never took the time to just do it.

Because of guys like Steve, most of the boards today are plug and play and are programmable straight from the boards without additional controllers, etc. Much simpler than it looks and the payoff with your guests is amazing (not that you guys need to step your game up or anything!).

These used to be readily available at the thrift stores and provided 2 moving arms that operated together. It could be very frustrating getting them adjusted and working correctly but they did look great when they were dialed in. A tutorial on a similar build to mine was done by a fellow member on Haunt Forum, SpookySam. You can find it at docs.google.com/file/d/0BwpTAra94PKQd2tEQnMtTGQzMEU/edit?pref=2&pli=1 Be patient when adjusting them. Mine usually had plenty of holes drilled in various locations to get the motion I wanted.
