I love how Europeans who routinely speak three or more languages often say their English is lousy and then proceed to speak better than many native speakers! Great job!

Beautifully done. Your english and audio & video examples were all very easy to understand. I just got into using 500 series hardware, and while they are cheaper than the full-sized versions, they still are not cheap. Your video makes me think it might not be totally impossible for me to at least attempt to build my own some day. Maybe. Can you give some examples as to how much of a savings you were able to make by doing a DIY kit and how much time it took and the degree of difficulty vs just plunking down a bunch of money on a factory built model where one could be totally confident that the parts were put together perfectly to spec and also have the added protection of having a full manufacturer’s warranty?

very very educational also musical .suggest me diy mastering compressor . my question is why not any compressor is not suitable for whole mix bus i mean to say master or there is any difference in mix and master bus . i am very new to this world.
5 жыл бұрын
Of course you can use any compressor for mastering - use whatever gives you the sound that you want to achieve. Mastering compressors usually have additional parameters and features that are helpful for mastering, for example sidechain filters or a wet/dry blend.

@lonnyhandwork4225 жыл бұрын
Great job. Frankly, your English is better that some native English speaking YTubers. I was confused by your comment that dual 1176s would need to be modified to run stereo. Don’t you just run the left channel into one and the right into the the second? What am I missing? Thanks!
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Lonny! Running a stereo mix into two mono compressors will change the stereo image. Imagine a guitar mixed to the middle (meaning same volume on both the left and right channel) and then a loud instrument mixed to the left channel. Only the compressor for the left channel will engage and reduce the gain. Since this also reduces the volume of the guitar on the left channel it will shift the stereo image of the guitar from the center to the right channel since there is no compression and the signal is now louder compared to the left channel. To get rid of this problem a real stereo compressor will will combine the left and right channel to a mono signal (or at least 2/3 mono) and send this to the detection circuit. If you have compressors with a sidechain input you can do this mono mix outside the box but since a 1176 doesn't have an external sidechain input you would need to modify it internally.
