Also, not a lot of people seem to be aware of the stereo modes in Ableton's EQ. Mid-side is great for stuff like this.

Funilly enough an EQ (flat eq not boosting or ducking anything) only effecting one side of the stereo field (for example the right side) and nothing effecting the left you will still get a stereo widening effect due to plugin latency and you end up with a haas effect.

Just wondering but how come you don't use logic's dual mono setup for plugins instead for something like this? As far as I can tell it works the same and also allows for mid-side eqing as well?

So are you making a duplicate of the same synth and then EQ'ing one as the left and one as the right?? Sorry if it's more obvious than Im making it...

no, it's just one synth but he's got two EQs on his channelstrip as you see on the left side. In the EQ settings he sets up one EQ for the left side and one for the right.

Just use a saw waveform, set your unison to around eight voices, turn the detune to around 60%, maybe throw on a subtle chorus, and that should replicate the supersaw. Maybe play around with the waveform a bit. :)

how can I do a similar thing in FL Studio? The native EQ doesnt have a left/right only setting (afaik) and ive been using the delay/patcher technique

Duplicate the track. Pan one track full left, the other full right. Follow the video instructions.
