It appears to work, you just have to control the area by switching off your devices so that any signal that is found will be a potential threat

It works, and works well. I have one here in Germany.

The demo didn't do justice to the viewfinder/camera detection LED's. If you're a few feet away and the room is dark or dim, a well hidden pinhole camera really shines brightly against the background. I got this used/like new on Amazon for under $10 and used it to find 2 hidden cameras so far. Haven't had need for the other functions yet. Update: I used this last weekend to locate my daughter's misplaced phone. We were staying at an AirBnb and I had it along for camera detection duty (none found at this beautiful home), and it only came to mind after 2 or 3 hours of teenage tears and temper tantrums, but worked like a charm. 5 to 10 minutes of scanning and making adjustments and BAM, this little wonder found it beneath her makeup bag that she swears she'd looked under several times before, so it might just be a real magic wand capable of manifesting material objects from our wants and desire. Will update again if that 10 million dollar lottery ticket shows up.

Exactly. You're supposed to be holding the viewfinder (with the antenna retracted and out of the way 🙄) up close to your eye as the very bright LED's illuminate the room. It feels to me that the middle 'slow' strobe setting works best. And if he has his 'location' function active on his phone it's going to be buzzing and letting him know that there is an outgoing signal from that 'device'. I've put it by my phone and turned airplane mode on and off and the detector responded to these actions just as one should expect. Uploader is also using the radio strength (antenna gain) in the opposite fashion as it should be. And I should mention the impatience; it does in fact mention in the troubleshooting/FAQ about first needing to set it toward one direction for up to 10 seconds before moving to another position or when adjusting the gain in order to better triangulate on a suspicious area which you may be honing in/focused on, yet he's just sweeping it around all willy-nilly like a TV Secret Service, Super spy movie character. It's a shame when thrift stores get rare or interesting items that just end up in the hands of fools.

Hey, OP! That's an awesome update, I hadn't considered that angle just yet but will keep it in mind. Since your one of very few others on this video whom has figured out how to properly use all of the functions, I'd like to ask a specific question regarding your experience of outcome: Regarding the tracking of various 'emitters', 'radiographic signals' etc., and assuming you have the gain set according to your surroundings, does your experience reflect whether there are better results when pointing the tip of your antenna toward specific areas you're inspecting, or has simply holding it vertically while moving to other positions, been equally effective toward a more accurate or faster means of triangulation? This has felt a bit like a coin toss for me since generally, antennae don't "typically" work as if there are parabolics attached (yet I've been noting a mild disparity) so I'm hoping to hear the opinion of another whom has "decoded the mysteries of this 'unusual, alien device"😁 And if only those winning Lotto tickets had used some RFID ink 😢 lol Thanks in advance

I have this exact model. Costs next to nothing and actually works much better than expected for the cost. Yes, the instructions are worthless, but so is this video uploader. All functions were not hard to figure out how to use effectively if you have even a vague idea about the methods necessary to use these devices properly. The uploader tries so very hard to sound as if he's experienced and articulate, but his actions and how he handles the device reveal the reality of a fatal cascade of iD10t errors. For those of you out there that lack experience and/or generally have difficulty with being able to intuitively figure out how unusual gadgets function, then this truly is not something you'd want to give yourself a headache with while still not understanding how to use it properly. However, if you enjoy figuring things out and also have a slightly more than rudimentary understanding of interesting devices, then I believe this is an interesting, fun, and unexpectedly useful device. Just need a bit of patience, observational skill, and perhaps some better dexterity than the person demonstrating this item while mashing 2 and 3 different command buttons at a time in between doing takes as the Penguin's 'Stand-in'. (never trust pudgy pointy triangle fingers to properly handle anything smaller than a VHS Remote Control)

What a needlessly long-winded comment. In all that jibber jabber and considering your principal complaint, your time could’ve been better spent sharing your seemingly superior knowledge on how to intuitively figure out unusual gadget function. TL;DR: Never trust someone whose comment vaguely reads like one generated by AI. Record your own video and then get back to me.

@@stereophonicstuff I don't make videos. Your request for some clues on how to better understand the item had already been met within my response to another comment that doesn't agree with your assessment. I'm unsure how you missed it, since there's not much more than 30 comments. Couldn't *your* time have been better spent making anything else besides this ridiculous video? Also: If a man talks like a duck, writes like a duck, and has the de'duck'tive reasoning of a duck, then he's probably an idiot; ducks are not known for being very savvy. TL; DR: Already did that. Shouldn't be hard to find.

Also, I used the word, "intuitively", for very specific reasons. Words have meaning; intuition can neither be taught nor explained.

It's probably just a broadband RF detector, which as you say, the proliferation of WiFi, Bluetooth, and mobile phones makes nearly useless these days. You could just as easily use an AM radio and listen for the increase in interference as you bring it near electronic devices.
