Can anyone here resolve some of my doubts.....? Plz comment whether my statements are correct or not ❣️1.❣️SIP is applicable only in 1°aromatic amines and not in 2° or 3° aromatic amines (means if H of NH2 in o-toulidine is replaced by methyl then SIP is not applicable) 𝙳𝚎𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚎 𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚒𝚗 𝚙𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚝 1 𝚒𝚜 𝚍𝚎𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚐𝚎𝚗 𝚒𝚗 𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚎.. ❣️2.❣️ In 2° and 3° aromatic amines which are ortho substituted, SIR is applicable there ❣️3.❣️ In N, N methyl aromatic amine pronation is not easy as there is repulsion in methyl groups so it's basic strength is less than N, N methyl aromatic amines whose both ortho position is occupied by methyl as in this +I and +H of methyl(at ortho) increase availability of lone pair although due to SIR effect planarity of nitrogen and benzene ring changes.. 💖💖If anyone of my points or explanation is wrong then plz comment, through your comment I want to know the correct reasons. No it is not the same! In ortho(for PhCOOH n PhNO2) and SIP effect plane is changed but in SIR effect plane is not changed! For additional info: Groups which can be used in all three cases can be any except H,D,T,OH,NH2,CN... Hope it will help!🙂
