Remember learning how to use these in the RAF 30 years ago. Nice for short range. Hardly any recoil. Cheap as chips. Look cool as well.

does the bolt need to be locked back when taking rear cap off? I hate myself for not picking one of the Sterling "semi pistols" from S.O.G. 15years or so ago... they sold them for $239.00 I thought that was kinda high. lol!!
@BWEFirearms3 жыл бұрын
No, I should have let the bolt go forward before removing the rear cap so there would have been less spring tension on the cap.

I really enjoy your videos Richard. For the barrel removal on the Sterling, have you tried using a slightly snug wooden dowel rod into the chamber end to control the barrels rotation?
@BWEFirearms3 жыл бұрын
That would be a good way to do it.

What do you think of the Finish KP44 and PPS 43 design?
@BWEFirearms3 жыл бұрын
I am not a huge fan of them as they are a crude sheet metal subgun and the rate of fire is too high in my opinion. I have parts kits for them that I will probably never build as they are just not a fun or comfortable subgun to shoot.

how do you get a stainless steel sten tube uncut or 80 percent mill? and how do you get a barrel?
@BWEFirearms3 жыл бұрын
Online metals should have stainless steel tube the correct diameter. I don't know if anyone makes an 80% Sterling receivers. I just get the tube and cut my own. I don't know of anyone who makes Sterling barrels.

@@BWEFirearms Have a funny story! I tried like 25 years ago to build a antique sten and had no tools. Purchased a kit for 50 bucks! Found back in windows 95 days a place that sells sten tube receivers brought one but back then they charge you to turn the inside diameter of tube like a extra hundred bucks! so brought the thing couldnt fit the parts together! purchased a bycycle reaming tool! Took a drill reamed the tube out with oil and reamer. went to weld it together and tube shrunk! had to take it apart again and ream it again! cause I read that over in europe duriing world war two people got the kits cut down metal fence posts and used them as receiver tubes! and didnt care if it every worked just wanted a sten gun prop around! Then lost it in storage shed with all my stuff! Then started selling the kits with out barrels in the future! and now have a couple of places that sell the tubes but you have to order online and send money order in a week or they send your money back. So what happened to sten it just rusted like a care inside and out side in one years cause it wasnt stainless steel!
