Stern Seawitch pinball review

I've just started to enjoy this game. Tried it a couple of years ago, but the machine was wonky and needed repairs. Now the local bar has a pretty good one (might actually be the same that has been repaired).

This pin is just so evocative to me. So much so that after seeing the first half minute of footage of one on KZbin I just had to have one. I did find one and I have spent a fortune on it: Playfield sent to Germany for a complete repaint New Backglass New plastics New MPU board New drop targets New pop bumpers Really enjoyed your video. I was thinking of blue flipper rubbers but I think I'll stick with the red now. My high score is 5.5 million on 5 ball play and I have stopped trying to beat it. I like to try and get a total wall of sound effects going for as long as possible. I really liked the old Sterns and I would like an Ali, Catacomb, or Split Second. The big points are to be had by leaving one drop target standing on any set for over a second or so on the second and subsequent sets on any one ball and then hitting it. You will then score the bonus value not including multiplier. Did I hear a Game Plan Pinball Lizard in the background ?

Thanks, I didn’t know this, 500,000 is usually a good game for me on 5 balls will need to try those drop targets. I think the is the only classic stern at Special When Lit, though there is also a Gorgar and next to this machine there was a Dark Shadow and Dolly Parton which you may have heard. It’s certainly a machine that’s worth the effort on, great layout and good fun. There is also a Stern Quicksilver at Flipout in London if your on the hunt to play other classic sterns :)

@@pinballreviews1363 , funny thing is that I hadn't played a pinball for over 20 years when I decided to buy my beloved Seawitch. The ultimate impulse buy.

Don Simon It’s a great hobby to get back into, (I’d not played in about 20 years either a few years back) well worth doing some competitive play if you can get 5.5mil on this! I think there is also an Ali at flip out in London and there are national leagues worth entering (course postpobed atm) If your getting back into it the best and biggest event is Pinfest in Daventry. It’s at the end of August so a fair chance it’ll go ahead after lockdown. There’s well over 100 machines there brought by hobbyists and the like. Glad the video had such an effect on you! Congrats on finding your dream machine :)

I do love my Seawitch...but I think it's funny that when you're mentioning the big games that came out in 1980 you didn't mention Xenon or williams black knight. Those are the first two I think of.....I'd still rather play Seawtich though.

Good point(!) At the time I made this video, I don't think I'd played a Xenon or Black Knight (since enjoyed both). This one has since been fully restored with a new paint job, playfield & LED's and sitting proud back in Special When Lit. Great game!
