Great game, lots of fun. Steve Ritchie really hit it out of the park on this one. That said, the ball seems to jump off the playfield way too often on the 3 different machines I've played. It's constant.

Agreed, for that kind of money, you shouldn't have to fix or clean anything. I was looking into getting the pro series, but now I'll wait on that.

R.I.P. Value in Stern LE series of pinball machines. This was the last one where you really got something extra for the higher purchase price. This game has got the awesome armor with the phaser LEDs as well as the nice lighted emblems and shaker motor that the premium doesn't come with. The next title Ritchie did, Game of Thrones, the only thing the LE gains is the number plaque and a mirrored glass for the same extra $$$ as this was over a premium. Also, Game of Thrones LE, no more lockbar handle (gone to cheap clips you mention) no play field supports (same cheap rods as in pro) and plastic apron now, too! If that's not enough, they even got rid of the interlock switch. Yup, no more high voltage disable when you open the door. Unbelievable. No more LEs for me.

Geez, that's WAY too much money for a machine with such lax quality control. I wonder if Walking Dead & Wrestle Mania have the same issues? Thanks for the great review!

Couldn't agree more about the annoying wedge GI sockets. They continually come loose on my Metallica LE, and it's not exactly easy to reach many of them. There's a reason bayonet sockets were used for GI, even decades after the introduction of wedge sockets. Stern, please stop saving money in this area. I'd gladly pay a couple bucks more per game for bayonet GI sockets.

It does appear that they have gone back to bayonet sockets in the slingshot and back panel areas. I know there was a lot of issues with the wedge sockets on Avengers.

Although you shouldn't have to do this, but I used a dab of clear silicone on the spot lights for my Metallica pin, keeps the wedge bulbs from working their way loose. It works and is a cheap and easy fix.

When you higher top notch employees, you get top notch quality. What do people expect for $10k? Stern has been cutting corners so much they've become rounded, and it shows. ST is a good game, it really is, but the shit quality of the machine has left a sour taste in my mouth, especially at that price. JJ has shown what a quality build looks like (save for bad LED boards) but it's their first. As long as people blindly buy Stern games for TOP BUCK he'll continue to cheapen out as much as he can. Sorry man, but a florescent light bulb and stickers on the cab are for shit. Bad artwork, bad DMD animations, crap quality, and everyone still praises it, Gary should thank his lucky stars Steve Ritchie joined with him.
