They look like really fun shots. Code needs work, but the layout looks great. I like that the shots dont look super easy and will take skill to dial in. Bash toys are always fun. Gives new players something straightforward to aim for. The danger room looks like a lot of fun. Doing missions doesnt seem very impactful but they could be doing something cool with it. Hopefully it will be a case that you do missions and there are all these specific alternate time lines in the future. So if you smuggle the cargo but dont defend the school etc.. you get certain consequences in the future. That could bring some interesting stuff to the game if they flesh out all the different alternate time lines. And then the perfect time line in the future is a wizard mode that scores massively compared to the imperfect time lines.

It's not my favorite theme and the music is a little subpar. But the shots and layout is one of the best i have ever seen. Looking forward to playing this one in a few weeks.

Could be that the ball is doing a bounce when shot out to the lane and the plunger needs to wait a bit longer so the ball is allowed to settled down first.. a simple code fix. :)

Well we're not exactly seeing all of it here. There's 4 more modes, but I believe you have to progress into the future and head back again to qualify them. So I think what we know so far is 8 base modes, three multiballs, and the past mode where you're bringing your successful missions in the past in to help clear the future sentinals. There seems to be something happening in the danger room and with the Beast varitarget, but maybe those aren't fully implemented yet. I think it's a little unfair to say it needs more code just because you're not able to progress through it yet, but it does need a couple more goals to be splitting your attention between instead of just mission progression and multiball qualifying. I'm curious how deep the future mode is.

@@Kevin-sh8hu dropping $13k for a unfinished game is scary you really don’t know if the code will ever be complete especially if the game doesn’t sell well. I’m sure the code will be better but we don’t know for sure. It’s not like Lyman is coding this. Waison is a complete unknown as a lead programmer

@@joeb3008 Welcome to the new normal. Elwin just had an interview with Joel at Flip n Out where he reiterated how important he feels releasing the code early like this is for development. Stern will have to continue to deliver as the move towards these 1.0 releases in order to gain trust for sure, but for the most part, I feel that they have so far. This probably mattered less when Pros were going out to locations first vs high end buyers scooping up the LEs for intensive home play. I suppose I'm happy that my Premium is the last on the line. The bones are there. We have 8 basic modes off the primary mission qualifying path, and those all have a path to finish "perfectly". We have a bash target for multiball that has potential to be expanded with different modes or multiballs. We've got the past to future mechanic leading to a challenging mode. We have the varitarget and danger room that will have objectives (not sure yet if there's anything to those yet?). We definitely need more things to think about right out the gate (3 paths seems to be a good sweet spot), and I want to see something related to individual powers of the X-Men.

@joeb3008 You cannot call ANY Stern (at least since Spike 2) "unfinished". In fact, they continue to add new things to completed games. Codes are frequently above 1.1! It isn't a risk with Stern. Some other companies, maybe.

I grew up with X-Men in the 90s but for some reason I am not connecting with this game. Idk, it seems to not have any soul. I guess that probably has a lot to do with the code and the lack of animations.
