The Chapman Stick is a stringed instrument similar to the electric guitar which was developed in the mid-70's allowing the musician to play melodies, rhythms, bass lines and more, at one time. Steve Adelson, featured performer at the Long Beach Jazz Festival and Chapman Stick master, gave a history and explanation of the instrument and then an electrifying performance of music ranging from the Beatles and James Taylor to jazz greats such as Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt and Pat Metheny. Don't miss this fun, unique performance!
