I don't think they're IN love... but they love each other deeply. For me, this is why I love this show... they have a deep connection but there isn't added sexual tension. I love their relationship.

I just think that the way it ended could hint at a romance between the pair. The both of them are single, the pub scene "you dont realise what you've got until its gone" "likewise" and then the look after that. "Im not on my own, I've got you mate" at the end of that scene and her smile. And then kate tlaking to the therapist guy saying that steve is the best and she doesnt know what she'd do without him. Just felt a bit more than friends is all haha
