@1BeeJenks The Ahoy recording is great because it is the closest anyone will come to seeing the way Steve Balsamo performed this in the show itself. No recording exists of his performance in the actual show which is a great shame, It was the most emotionally draining experience I have ever had. Outside of real life of course.

Heyerkat there is the original soundtrack album from the london 1996 show of jcs. Where he does hold the high note for a very very long time

I am absolutely crushed that there is no recording of that 1996 London performance. He is the most soulful, mesmerizing, talented Jesus ever. That Ahoy performance captivated me. Now I am obsessed. What I would give to have seen that show. You are quite lucky indeed.

Simply the best and his performance is so memorable especially, as has been said before, the Ahoy recording. Its a pity that this recording is slightly marred by an over enthusiastic audience.

Ps: almost everyone who played jesus hit that HIGH G# on that part..... so, its extremely high, but it IS possible.

Beautiful strong, masculine performance. BUT...don't forget that this is "Agony in the Garden". If there is any time for DRAMA, this is it! Sorry but he just doesn't look like he is agonizing.

I know it's late to response your comment, but anyway. He's incredibly fantastic and true sincere in Jesus when it's a big show, not a party-concert like this. It's not a place for showing all suffering soul, you should perform but feel ambiance. As you can see Steve didn't fall to his knees like in original performance. It's situation when emcee joking before your perform and after for making peops happy, it's not a time for excruciating. Just giving audience a touch to something they love.
