I doubt the show would have nearly the recognition as a classic and fundamental representation of what makes a great anime in the western world, but I think it was still popular in japan but I wouldn't know. The writing itself along with the animation are pretty great but his voice truly could not be replaced

@@pikppa Their was this tv show once, and even though I thought the tv show was really fucking shitty, their was one character who was really interesting to me that touched this topic. Basically she had this super talent where she could copy literally any voice, and for her line of work, she has used this power to her beniffit hundreds of times, and at one point she breaks down talking about how she doesn't even remember what her real voice anymore. Hated the show but I thought this concept of a character was really interesting. (no i don't remember the show for i was to young )

+Rebelliate He voices Scott Mitchell in Ghost Recon... but that's old... he was also going to be Marcus Fenix in Gears of War but they recast and John DiMaggio (Bender from Futurama) got the role instead. He also got Abathur in StarCraft 2... but he was a supporting Zerg research dude... hmmm... not many leading game rolls tbh. To be honest, I hear his voice and Crispin Freeman's voice in a lot of games... and Liam O'Brien. Those are the three most common voices I hear.

Met him a few month at my local comic con. So kind and humble. Told him how i watch Cowboy Bebop at the end of every rough day, and it is one of my biggest inspirations. I also told him how me and my brother bonded over his work on Logic's The Incredible True Story. Believe it or not, he took a video of me telling the story about me realizing that Spike-fucking-spiegel was on a rap album, and sent it to Logic.

I was immediately attracted to the character when I heard his first few lines in the pilot episode of Cowboy Bebop. I just love how his voice gave more than enough justice to Spike's character, in a way you feel as if the guy really exists, as if he's that carefree and confident man in your Literature class or that enigmatic boy next door. He totally nailed "giving life to the character". This guy is definitely one of the greatest voice actors ever

I met Steve twice & he's really cool. I showed him my superhero fusions last time & he thought my Darth Vegeta costume was cool. Last week when I met him & told him about my Communist Galactic Empire idea & the Gary Sue character that went back in time to make it Communist. I even got him to experiment with voices for a Communist Sith Emperor with the line "we must form a people's galactic empire" I also showed him a picture comparing the 4 presidential candidates to Korra villains & he laughed & said "wow you made that?"

Wow, I remember first hearing his work around thirty years ago when he played Agito Makashima in The Guyver OVA series (I think it was one of his first roles) & absolutely adored his voice. So glad he became so successful 😊
