Corporations have been taxed 21% on all profits since 2018... who are all these people that aren't paying taxes somehow?
@DM-kv9kj4 жыл бұрын
@@blahblahs1234567 Amazon, Google, Starbucks, various phone companies etc etc famously use various loopholes in tax laws around the world to get out of paying what would otherwise be often tens of billions of dollars every year in taxes back into many countries' economies. Our governments are ignoring these loopholes for a very good reason, those at the top make millions in bribes from these massive global corporate giants. The percentage corporation tax figure you quoted is only what they should pay. Legally they get around paying most of that via these loopholes. They shouldn't, it should be highly illegal, but governments take no action on it because they make huge, corrupt personal profits from it all (most of which gets put into accounts in tax haven countries like Monaco or the Cayman Islands also). Anytime any politician tries or wants to close these tax loopholes and make multi-billion dollar corporate giants pay their taxes properly they always get destroyed by those in power and by the media, usually labelled communists and terrorist sympathizers etc. That's not to say all of those politicians are necessarily otherwise great either, but there is this strong trend happening.
@WarMachine5504 жыл бұрын
@@DM-kv9kj so should we be upset at corporations for gaming the system? Or the govt for allowing them to game the system? It's almost like govts find a way to waste most of the money they collect in taxes. Oh nvm. It's exactly like that.
