Carol was my mom's cousin, she was a beautiful person and so are her two daughters. I still have one of her paintings hanging in my house, she was so talented. And if anyone's wondering, my aunt Ruth is still going strong at almost 100 years old. 😊 My family is full of wonderful and strong women, and I'm grateful you portrayed Carol as she was. I'm wondering why the daughters where standing by their father's side. Now I can understand it's hard to fathom one of your parents would be capable of murder, especially of murder of your other parent. But what made me stop and think is also the fact that Charlotte decided to move out of her childhood home to live with her father after the divorce. To live with the man who cheated for years on your mother and to even leave the home you grew up in sounds strange. So I'm wondering if there had already been lots of manipulation by Steve long before the murder.

Then he insists on using all the insurance up for himself, rather than caring about the youngest daughter's college expenses. Selfish, manipulative bastard! The way he spoke to them just set off all the red flags in me. But when you are in the situation, it rewires your brain. It's easy for us to hear on the outside, but it's all they knew. I hate that they gave him any money. Or defend him. I hope with time and distance they have gotten out of his manipulation, but I dont think they will. I fear losing one parent pushed them further into it. Because he is what they have left.

It’s so very sad how the family members of a murderer suffer. They stand by their murderous relative, long after it’s clear to everyone else what really happened. I saw a story about a murderer who was sentenced to death. He maintained his innocence, which kept his family visiting him and putting money on his account for decades. Just before he was executed he confessed, and the shock on his family’s faces and the sickening devastation of what he had done to them for all those years was evident. So very sad, but understandable and just like this case.

@@cdes1776I mean what they said his monthly expenses were in more than some people make in a year. He didn't need to be in debt. He choice to be in debt by making bad decisions. I am sure before the 2008 crisis he could afford it, otherwise the divorce would not have been settled as it was. But when you lose income, you have to make choices and cut expenses. I can't imagine spending that much month even if I made it. Never life above your means. He knew his alimony responsibility..so adapted around it. Spend less on yourself. Start selling off assets like the rest of us.

@23:45 I LOVE how Daddy's "babysit" their own babies lmfao smh My ex-husband used to babysit our kids too. I never did, I just hung out w my family, but I'm a Mom so! Doesn't count w Mommies lmao 🤬The phone call of this animal shoving this childs' importance "down the scale" pisses me off. I literally clinched my jaw in fury when I heard this. Smdh grrrr!! Not that this murder didn't make me angry, bcuz it does, but smh his child/young adult being another victim of his--pushes me over the line lol. Weird, I no. Just one of my issues from decades ago. Idk how to rid myself of that one. --theres NO WAY I'd give that MF'er all that money and slite the kid! I'd give him the leftovers from paying her tuition. Technically it's her money!! It's in HER NAME, so bro would be gettin' leftover tuition money!

Numero uno, having affairs, while married, with 17 people, isn't love of his wife, but love of ones self! Secondly, his will didn't include his daughters. Getting his daughters to help him is trifling. I was waiting to hear about the text messages he sent to his wife. I wonder who killed the guy who lived in the guest house.

Yeah, if you are in a monogamous relationship and cheat, you are a POS.. in this day and age, just hsve a poly relationship. However , with the way he manipulated and controlled his partners, I doubt he could have an honest poly relationship though. He wants a relationship with a power imbalance. Which would make him a menace even if his partners were fine with him having partners.

Well done as always. This person is without a doubt an evil monster. I mean his marriage ended because of his selfish behavior with other women, than he starts whining to ex about how much he has to pay her. Than he kills her to get of paying support and collect on her life insurance policy. He is also a true Narcissist. I feel bad for his daughters, because they actually believe his crap. .

I am seriously offended at KZbin for for them preventing the iconic information sharing at the end of every TIM for abuse victims and suicidal human beings. I know the info is displayed on screen, but I think it’s absolutely stupid that those idiots can’t distinguish between someone educating the public on help available and “trigger word”. I’ve been able personally to help three people in crisis bu sharing the info and phone numbers by memory because of this is monsters. I didn’t know before, and if I had to read that list I still wouldn’t know: Screw youtube!! Jiles is educating us on the services available for those in awful situations. Even if only one person was saved by the quick resource education of one of us. That’s worth it. KZbin needs to wale up.

Jiles...the cases discussed on your channel are indeed heart breaking, but may I just say, there is something very comforting about your voice!😇Hearing disturbing stories from you somehow makes it a tad bit better. TY for your hard work, for the witty snark you insert the perfect amount of, but mostly for the WAY you share these tragedies; always well researched, always w/respect to those taken too early as well as their loved ones💜 PS. it's random, and late, but I imagined you as a lumberjack, like the guy on the Brawny Paper Towels. Idk why??? smh. But good to see you and hi, from Cali✌it's 3am, i need to get some sleep😳 keep up the great work & GN!

You can tell he rehearsed his speech beforehand. You can literally see him speak, pause, manufacture crying annnnd .... continue speaking. Also if I may, there's something rotten about the character of a person who constantly and repeatedly cheats on their spouse. It shows a selfishness and contempt towards their partner. I do wonder why Charlotte chose to live with him though. Kate is fierce. The way she looked out for her sister is amazing. Such a pity they believed him though. I don't care how much you love a family member. If they commit murder, I will not defend them and I will turn them in.

Listening to his phone call with Katie about using the life insurance money for his defense instead of Charlotte's college education, saying it has to be down the list of priorities, is another display of how self-centered he is. He wanted every penny of that money, and had no qualms about manipulating his own daughters - whose mother he murdered out of selfish greed.

The way he spoke to her... He set off all my abuser red flags just by the way he spoke to her. I hope she has healed with time and distance and can see her dad for who he is. And how much their future didn't mean to him.
